HI, All. I just bought used Nissan Teana 2.5XV few weeks back, being driving daily about 80KM without any problem. Also been drove once to KL and back to Penang last 2 weeks, so far so good. But this situation no longer sustain on my 2nd trip to KL last 2 days, it as no problem at all from Pen to KL trip, then I drop my service apartment & park at lower ground car park & take a nap. few hours later when about dinner time, I went down to take my car & observed whole car park full of Denggi smoke (which KKM spraying the denggi oil) for whole car park. I never think more & just start my car about to drive. at this time I noticed my car totally no power & jerking. I still insist to drive to take dinner which 12KM away, so lucky the car did not break down. Next day morning, seem the car still have same symptom while driving to Sepang, I make an judgement that the air filter might be polluted by Denggi oil, so I try my best to locate spare part shop to replace air filter before drove back to Penang. The whole journey from Sepang to Penang (Bukit Tambun) toll, totally smooth without any problem even I stopped by R&R 2 times, but the symptom came back after I exit Toll & awaiting at Traffic light. The car seem like jerking & no problem again. Noticed the car only able to accelerate from RPM4K above. This morning I back to normal, curious is it Gearbox (CVT) going to bye bye soon, or the CVT fluid getting hot & causing this problem. Planning to change the spark plug too. Anyone from here facing Teana CVT problem ? Solution ? Replacement cost ? Any alternative solution ? Hope to get advise from here. The car millage is about 92K. THANKS YOU IN ADVANCE

How old is your car ?
Lets say its over warranty, you have 2 options if you dun want to get slaughter by the Service Center .
1) get it repaired , not that expensive but the downtime might be abt 10~14 days , meaning you need have a spare car to use
2) buy a halfcut unit and replacement by a good foreman.
There are lots of shops specialising in repairing GB & some even have recond GB for sale on a Ready Basis.
Get it diagnose at a GB repair workshop before deciding wat options to take.
If I were you, get a half-cut unit and ask for warranty for that unit, usually they give 30days warranty.
The above advice is applicable if your GB is confirmed kong, but then again maybe the GB is not at fault here, maybe some other issues due to the Denggi fogging !!!
So send it to TC SC for a proper diagnostic before making decisions !!!

Hi, My car born in 2014, I bought it 2nd hand at 85K millage. So far no issue until Denggi fogging happen in car park where I park. I would like the car still pretty new which less than 5 years or 100K millage. Would it be so fast the GB giving problem ? Today I drive the car without such symptom. Believe the car already over the warranty. Roughly how much the GB repairing cost ?

QUOTE(kcshyan @ Apr 15 2018, 03:26 PM) HI, I checked through the service booklet from past owner, everything in schedule. changed Auto Oil at 80K millage. Would it be overheated after long distance driving which more than 400KM ? Since you have the service records, I suggest you drive to a Service Center to get a proper diagnostic because they have all the necessary tools to chk for you the real issue beneath this problem, if the GB really need a replacement, then you can try getting a second opinion at a few GB servicing workshops. Half-cut gearbox range from rm800 ~ rm5000, depending on the car & model, some rare models cost much higher , so it depends on where you source it. Some ppl prefer to refurbish their problematic GB because it would be like a new GB after done & this could come to the tune of abt rm5000 [ if the half-cut version cost rm2000, I knoe this cause this is my car GB rough estimation cost ] If I would buy a totally new GB, it would cost abt rm25k But just go for a diagnostic first cause the GB might not be at fault at all !!!!!
