Further fragmentation of the education system....
Foundation/asasi is always an easier pathway because one is normally assured of a place in the course you want, as long as you meet the set minimum criteria....that is the intrinsic attraction and advantage of foundation pathways....
As to upu, foundation students are already considered admitted students of the university, and need not go through upu.....
As to competition for places, it's an opaque system, and based on some ipta practices, places are first assigned to the eligible asasi/foundation students, then left over places selected from upu.....the excuse being, the foundation students have no/little options to look elsewhere for their studies.....
All these practices are extremely bad and fragments up education.....
And we wonder why so many graduates cannot find jobs....
