Try the drain tanking technique. Even at level 30-ish my VW would lose aggro pretty early. All I do is just keep taking the hits while casting Drain Life over and over (maybe switching to Improved Drain Soul to regen mana at for the killing blow). As Affliction, the more Affliction dots you have on the target the more effective your Drain Life spell will be.

So far I'm just using the VW to tank one target, do it up and myself dot up another target and chain fear it. They usually die at the same time ;p
As for elites, if it can be feared, it will die. Eventually. lol |
