I'm also using the XFX 8600GT XXX edition card. Already pre-OCed, so why bother overclocking again? Stock cooler runs fine, wonder what's the fuss about? I got it for RM495 without having to wait.

I think you may be getting wrongly-reported readings. My load temperatures have always been < 60C. No side case fans.
