Because most of us here are at least on 7300GT already. So no point in getting the 8500 anyway. Unless for those who wanted to spend on a new PC and wanted to get a good budget card, then the 8500GE comes into that place..
*
yeah ..that's exactly my case .. LOL!

is Galaxy 8500GE good enuff for me? I used to have 6800ultra agp few years back ..but downgraded to 6600gt agp .. but later my 6600gt agp got 'pau' by brother ..
now feel like to do gaming again and refresh my rig to at least a PCI-e & C2D

hmm Crysis, CNC3, Starcraft 2 ... :: drool ::
I just aim to play these games at 1024x768 only (or perhaps 1280x1024).. so is 8500GE worth it? I heard it is 600 core/1400 mem

my budget is RM350 max .. dun want to push for more than that .. coz have to upgrade mobo and cpu too .. I'm getting a C2D E4300 .. just a basic gaming rig .. no time to play games nowadays ..

* working sucks.. no time to play game already .. cry.gif

Erm... C&C3 and Starcraft2 might be good... but 8500GE on Crysis is a little too impossible lorr...  sweat.gif

Maybe on the lowest setting possible...
*
haha ..yeah .. i think so too ..but hope that time i can upgrade the gc again ... crysis coming end of the year right?

ermm...i want to ask some noobz question about the 8500 GE or GT graphic card here. As you can see they oni cost around RM400 - RM600.
I'm using GeForce 7600GS 256 MB 256Bit now. It cost me around RM500 + last year sept. Just want to know y the 8500 so cheap?
Izzit better than mine becasue directx10 or ?

Hope some1 can help me out here biggrin.gif. Thinking Of changing mine biggrin.gif
*
if u r using 7600gs, i don't think there's a need to change to 8500GT or the overclocked version 8500GE.

better go for 8600GT/GTS or better still, the 8800 series ..

i haven't thouroughly test my 8500GE yet ...

how much you bought the 8500GE and how far (as for now) you can go in overclocking...? mind if you post the PCB of the 8500GE, because... from what i can see from quite distant... it's similar to 7300GT board, same size, same cooler too icon_idea.gif...
*
hmm .. dun have digicam with me now ..

asrock 775dual-vsta mobo (pci-e is 4x only)

3dmark05 : 6123

with cpu 2.4ghz & gpu 680/790 :
3dmark03 : 12406
3dmark05 : 7086

* yeah.. my mobo isn't the best out there .. but what to do .. it's a budget rig ... blush.gif

between palit 8500GT and galaxy 8500GE.....which one should i pick?? blush.gif??undecided lol~
*
take the galaxy 8500ge ... or any brand that have about the same overclocked speeds

ermm is that palit 8500gt using ddr2 or ddr3 ?
i know that palit 8500gt sonic is using ddr3

note that galaxy 8500ge is overclocked version of 8500gt
plain 8500gt is at 450/850 if not mistaken
but this galaxy 8500ge is 600/1400

the palit 8500gt sonic looks quite promising and also the galaxy 8500gt...both using ddr3 and both clocked at 600/1400 stock. anyone bought either of these cards yet? whats the OC'ability (is there even such a word? blink.gif) of these 2 cards compared to the ones clocked at the nvidia reference clocks

see below for my galaxy 8500GE 256mb ddr3 ... (post #559)

ur benchmark so high for a 8500
my 7900gs get 7000 at 3dmark 2003 and 15000 at 3dmark 2005
*
wahlau .. .7900gs getting 15k for 3Dmark05 (that's like 8800gts level already), but 7k for 3Dmark03 ?

i think u meant the other way around ..
7k for 3dmark05 and 15k for 3dmark03 tongue.gif

and yeah .. my 8500GE score is pretty good for an oc'ed 8500gt .. i'm pretty much satisfied with the price i pay blush.gif biggrin.gif

yesterday went to ALL IT to help my frens assemble their new rigs. they took GIGABYTE 512MB 8500GT DDR2 for RM340. but i am wondering, wud this be a better choice over 256MB 8600GT DDR3 at RM370?
*
QUOTE(donpapachino @ Sep 3 2007, 06:40 PM)
really that cheap meh 8600gt? shocking.gif
definitely go for 86gt, since its ddr3; whereas 85gt is only ddr2. dont look at memory size, its only useful for higher resolution settings.
*
8600gt at rm370?
where ? never seen an 8600gt ddr3 selling that cheap at shops .. (or do they?)
if it's true, then they should've bought the 8600gt then
