Hmm.. 1st time posting here and wanted to find out more about the TurboCache thing with the nVidia card.

Actually... more looking into the new laptop release by BenQ .. the Joybook S41...

It says using nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS... with turbocache 1GB... anyone able to explain more indepth of the actual ram available, kinda noob on this sort of things.

In my own term, TurboCache is a technology used by low end GC to be able to utilize the memory of the PC as part of the GC themselves. Take it in this sense, your 8600GS originally has 128MB (assumption). If your GC need more memory in running some graphics application, it can consume of the the memory of your motherboard and use it like its own memory to handle those application smoothly...

But AFAIK, if you wanted to run the full 1gb of turbocache memory, you must at least have 1256MB of ram.

Thanks for the info, but how would the performance fare overall?

Hmm... any recommendation on laptop with good nvidia card that doesn't rely much on shared memory to boost up the graphic performance?
