yeap, it's true, IMO, 320MB 8800GTS any brand will do biggrin.gif is the best bang for card and performance...
*
It's also the perfect performance point for gaming on 1680x1050

8800 super duper heater?
You ain't see nothing man, wait until you have 2900XT in your hand then you'll know which one is hotter and which one is cooler. laugh.gif

Ya from what I read in a custom pc stress test, a 2900XT was drawing about 340w while a 8800gts was drawing about 260w from the psu. Can't be too sure about the numbers though, don't have the magazine in front of me.

GeForce 9800 GTX will be over two times faster than a GeForce 8800 Ultra in real world games and applcations.

Yup is a passive cooler with a big solid heat sink,
i try to OC it to 650 / 800
the temp shoot up to 61~67c

is this kind of temperature GC able to handle it?
*
Should be fine imo if it stays there. I think if you look back through this thread, there are quite a few posts with people asking about temperature ranges.

It's the bioshock patch tongue.gif

Added on August 23, 2007, 12:58 pmgoddammit! ill be getting bioshock free from slizone...but ive done a very short read up on the new beta release driver thats supposed to have better compatibility with bioshock...

and the damn driver seems buggy doh.gif

I was messing around with the driver on CoH yesterday, seems quite buggy - textures not loading etc.. mind you only on DX10, DX9 was working fine though.

Those benchmarks are hardly surprising though. I knew the moment i tried playing in directx10 mode for CoH that I would be playing crysis in DX9

The 8500gt is underpowered compared to the 8600gt.

Memory is great for loading large textures but at the end of the day you're not going to have enough horsepower to push those large textures around.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
