have a question.. if wanna buy a fan for 8800gts.. if i buy a extra fan which put under the 8800 (the slot under the card), will it help to cool down the card? or it is better to change the fan of the origin 8800? thanks.

Wooo stanley85 another Gigabyte 8800gts 320 user, mind telling your idle + load temperature at default and 100% fan speed ?

Yes, get those PCI slot VGA exhaust fans will help get rid of the hot air around the 4 ventilation holes area.
*

hmm.. exhaust fan or fans to blow directly at your card? currently using a Vantec Fan Card to blow my 8800GTS 320mb. tongue.gif

for 100% fan speed, 58c idle and i thin abt 70c load. however, ori is 59% fan speed (sometimes forgot to set to 100% cos everytime when restart my pc it is set to origin fan speed) 65c idle and 73c full load.

i mean the fan blow directly to my card. vip3r, may i know whats ur card temp after changing the fan? cos i dunno whether those vga fan is really effective or not..as compare to the origin one. unsure.gif
*

actually, i'm not too sure. cause i installed it the moment i got my new rig. brought the fan card over from the old rig. laugh.gif anyway, my idle temps are around 65C, which i believe is quite high.. =\

had anyone break the 1000mhz barrier wif the mem clock??

ive tried last nite..but when the setting applied...the window color crashing...
*

not sure but using after setting it above 972mhz, window's will freeze. blink.gif

QUOTE(kmarc @ Sep 2 2007, 01:04 PM)
I tested ATItool on that setting and it passed (1 hour). Briefly tested the core at 648 and no artifacts.... lazy to test further.
My max mem is 972. When I put it at 999mhz, there are artifacts on ATItool.....  sad.gif
*

648? i went to 621 then dah malas dah. tongue.gif

have you ever noticed, if you use nvidia's monitor and ATiTool, you can't actually set the bus speed's to what you want, precisely? when i set the mem clock to 985mhz and set "set clock", nothing happened. only when i raised it to 995mhz, it jumped to 999mhz. doh.gif

QUOTE(mADmAN @ Sep 2 2007, 02:53 PM)
i did..... 680/1000 (2000 effective) max ive gone so far. perfect 3dmark05 stable. never tried going any higher though.

but this was on single card.... driver 158.22

now using the latest 162.sumthin....... and on SLI...cannot touch 1k mark. will pass RT test...but 3dm05 crash. but then already SLI still need to OC meh icon_idea.gif

im not sure about the 8600

but the clock increment for 8800 is 27Mhz per step, i.e if first step is 600MHz, even when you set 610MHz, it may jump to 627Mhz..

currently, there is no way to set 1MHz increment...

is it a driver bug? unsure.gif sure is annoying.. doh.gif
