QUOTE(mADmAN @ May 30 2007, 09:50 PM)
id go with the Asus if i were u. like u said...grat bundle, great warranty....plus u can RMA it from a local distributor...

u wan cheap then theres of course the palit.

e-VGA's lifetime warranty is product life or owner's life like BFG's? either way, both brands wanna RMA have to send back to Ah-Me-Li-Ka.

myself...i just ordered the BFG 8800GTS 320mb OC2 from karom biggrin.gif

EDIT: wats in the e-VGA 8800 GTS Superclocked bundle anyway?? i cant seem to find any info on that in their website.
*
Well, I am looking deep into Asus as well just because it can be easily obtained here in Malaysia, great bundle package and 3 years warranty. Not to mention price is good and some site state its performance is good as well. Is it pre Oced?

QUOTE(Phoenixwunin @ May 30 2007, 09:50 PM)
hm.. just wondering... akachester... do you plan to get your gc from retailers or just from bulk sales here??
*
Well, that really depends on what deal i can get. If its a brand that can be easily obtainable locally, for sure i am going to get from retailers even though they are maybe RM50 more expensive than bulk. Just do not like the hassle of having to RMA something from overseas..

If its either eVGA, Calibre, XFX or other brand that i decided to get, then i have no choice but to look into bulk orders..Currently, i think i only have either ASUS or eVGA in mind. If i cant find both, i will straight go to Galaxy.

QUOTE(dattebayo @ May 30 2007, 10:35 PM)
does the manufacturer matters when it comes to 8800 and other high end cards? I ve seen most of them using the same nvidia designed cooler, the difference is just sticker and logo, wonder whether they all using the same memory , PCB and capacitor?
*
Well, thats why i am asking which one does provide a good bundle and warranty. Thats what really matters in the price for now as they are all only differs by RM100. I wanted to get something that have a great bundle and warranty but comes at a good price..

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ May 31 2007, 12:11 AM)
Not to be proud or something, google around for eVGA 880GTS 320MB Superclocked performance, and you will find it worth every penny. It can easily outperformed 640MB. I'd searched long enough that makes me getting the card. Not to say its one of the cheapest OC version 320MB around in the market.
*
I have seen eVGA as well. Looks good in low resolution but i doubt it will beat the 640MB in 22" resolution. Anyway, price seems promising for a pre-Oced version..

QUOTE(sniper69 @ May 31 2007, 03:00 AM)
yeah, but 8500GT is using gDDR2 though... am i correct... BTW, i might be take this card for testing purposes and will sell it after... kaw˛ overclocked tongue.gif...
*
There is 8500GT using DDR3. Only Galaxy renamed them to GE for the DDR3 version..Buy and test kaw kaw again..lol...

well, you can use your 7300 to run another monitor...
*
IC.So, that means the extra card can only be used to run another display?Dont think i need that though..lol...

Can it run on the mobo first?I mean, will any mobo with 2 PCIE slot run 2 different GC?

is tht neccesary two owner's warrenty...?
change of new gc is so darn fast, wht's the point having life time warrenty...?
later icchi hand sure go change new gc again, seldom see ppl use it for so long...
*
First of all, warranty is one of the marketing gimmick used to capture the hearts of buyers around. Look at it this way. Most of the 8800GTS 320MB i have seen are around the region of RM1.1k to RM1.2k. Now, they are all using the same cooler, same PCB, same tech and etc. What makes you choose the more expensive ones like BFG, eVGA, Asus etc. Its because of warranty. Some of them prefers a longer warranty even though its more expensive.

I do agree some of them are rich enough to change a GC whenever they want but not all are that type anyway. Besides, having 2 owners warranty can result in your card having better 2nd hand value as well as protect the 2nd owner in the same time as well. Not to mention if people are rich enough and changing GC are like changing clothes, then for sure having 2 owners warranty can benefit them as well...

Lifetime warranty?Thats too much of a gimmick as far as i can see. Look at rams nowadays, all come with lifetime etc...For me, 3 years is more than enough. More than that and you will be looking at yourself still using an "Antique" card at that time..lol...

ermm...i want to ask some noobz question about the 8500 GE or GT graphic card here. As you can see they oni cost around RM400 - RM600.
I'm using GeForce 7600GS 256 MB 256Bit now. It cost me around RM500 + last year sept. Just want to know y the 8500 so cheap?

Hope some1 can help me out here biggrin.gif. Thinking Of changing mine biggrin.gif
*
AFAIK, the GE only cost about RM350 now. Great buy if it can OC like hell like what the 7300GT can do..

Just obtained my salary today. Gosh, far less than what i expected. My 8800GTS dreams seems doom now..LOL..Unless i could wait another month which i really doubt so..Must look into the lower ranks now..Damn.. cry.gif

Well, just checked out a few websites around and after some consideration, i might look elsewhere for the 8800GTS. I heard from my cousin that i could get an ASUS or XFX from Spore for less than 1.1k. Might look into that as well...

If that's true, its a great bargain. Maybe you can start a small bulk see if anyone is interested to get one as well.
*
Bulk?Lol..Nah, i am just trying to get the best deal out of this situation. Maybe will ask the help of my cousin's friend to survey the prices at SLS before making any decision. As far as i can see from SLS pricelist, it seems most of the are going for roughly $450 which is around RM1050 even for ASUS n XFX..

Quite a nice price. You would probably want to check other brand's price as well, especially those pre-overclocked version and compare with the price we can get in here.
No one will be crazy enough using DI to run their system, just for benchmarking purpose. I'll more impress with their WR scores for 01,03,05,06.
*
Yea agree. I have yet to compare all of the prices available in SLS. Hopefully i can get a good deal there. Anyway, if i really get the ASUS one from Singapore, am i entitled to warranty my item here in Malaysia if anything goes wrong?

Non OCed? thatll make them all the same....but i guess ill go for the XFX for the double lifetime warranty thingy.

but also depends on what u want in the bundle la. personally...id rather have peace of mind with the warranty than an extra game which can be had for cheap brows.gif.
*
Ok great..seems like its going to be another big u turn from me. To be honest, big money spending in getting 8800series is bothering me like hell. Spending over 1k isnt really my type of character and i am still trying to make the best out of it..

For now, suddenly i have a big doubt in mind. Leaving the 8800series aside, would the high end 7series be able to handle 22" native resolution in gaming? What will be the nearest challenger to the 8800 in term of performance?Thanks..

And at what framerate do you guys consider as playable in term of gaming?

Well, there is some tweak for it though. Not sure whether its workable on every mobo or not..

Anyway, anyone tried the 8600GTS on any game before at 22" LCD?How playable are they? Besides, whats the difference by turning on AA and AF in games?
