Guys, need some oppinion here..

I have check out several brand of 8800GTS available and most of them are in the range of RM1.1k - RM1.2k. Since its not that much of a difference (except OEM and Palit going for below RM1.1k), which brand is the best bang for buck for now and its price?

Besides that, which 8800GTS comes bundled with game?Thanks..

I am sort of torn between few brands lately :

Asus --> Looks like having a good bundle, great warranty and some reviews are stating their card is good as well..

eVGA --> Just for the sake of lifetime warranty and their superclocked series is going at a very good price as compared to the other normal series.

Calibre --> Absolutely love their TEC Cooler. Seems nice. Great promo price at bulk sales and are pre-OCed. Too bad the cooler is too big..

Other than that, i also have Galaxy in mind depending they are pre-Oced or not. The problem is their price is not as low and the bundle does not contain many things..

I'd go for Leadtek's 8800gts. Cheapest compared to the others, its at RM1100, just RM10 more than Palit. Of course, the bundled games are sub-standard compared to other more expensive cards biggrin.gif

Now you mention Calibre and their TEC cooler (which I do raise this issue a few post back)...

How effective is this thing really?? TEC cooler stands for ThermoElectric correct?? Does this ensure a low-noise yet effective cooling solution. And how about their oc ability??? I tried doing some research through google but couldn't find any review that really is trustworthy to me sweat.gif

Anyone have a Geforce8M laptop yet? I'm interested in getting one soon. So far, only the Toshiba Qosmio G40/F40 has the 8600GTS.

Leadtek got out their card very early, and also selling very cheap. Even the card looks so cool. There must be a reason why their card is very cheap rite? Im not sure how true this is, but there seems to be some firmware issue with that brand. how far it is true, i do not know. Try googling.

The TEC cooling looks effective. At least on the GTX review i have seen thus far. But by taking 3 slots, I am really incline to get that for now...lol..

Leadtek. Never thought about that though.Should have a look at it soon...Palit is going for as low as RM1040 so i doubt any other brand is going anywhere near that price for now..

id go with the Asus if i were u. like u said...grat bundle, great warranty....plus u can RMA it from a local distributor...

u wan cheap then theres of course the palit.

e-VGA's lifetime warranty is product life or owner's life like BFG's? either way, both brands wanna RMA have to send back to Ah-Me-Li-Ka.

myself...i just ordered the BFG 8800GTS 320mb OC2 from karom biggrin.gif

EDIT: wats in the e-VGA 8800 GTS Superclocked bundle anyway?? i cant seem to find any info on that in their website.

too many things to consider bro.
What will be the purpose of the pc? general usage? gaming machine?
What's the max and min budget for your gpu?

Please do not think of getting the 8600gts. jus topup a little and you can get d 8800gts 320mb, which performs a lot better compared to 8600gts.

yeah... it's either 8600GT or straight away go to 8800GTS. The performance and money difference between 8800GTS and 8600GTS isn't worth it at all...

does the manufacturer matters when it comes to 8800 and other high end cards? I ve seen most of them using the same nvidia designed cooler, the difference is just sticker and logo, wonder whether they all using the same memory , PCB and capacitor?

Don't really care about it actually... but sometimes the bundled stuff do matter tongue.gif

Though I do believe most of other things apart from the pre-overclocked... are the same wif each brand (PCB, memory etc... except Calibre's TEC cooler.. ) So ofcourse... I will look for the best bang of bulk and the worthy of the brand with the money I paid for it... smile.gif
