guys....can someone help me and gimme a direct link to the best drivers to use with the 8800GTS 320MB & the Galaxy 8500GE?

planning to get both soon

and im an absolute n00b when it comes to these driver thingys....usually just use the one on the cd and never change again tongue.gif

Just go to Nvidia.com n use the latest WHQL drivers for max stability. Beta drivers not assured of stability. Also, make sure u select the right drivers. 8800 series n the lower end 8 series use diff drivers IIRC.

i guess this should work with the 8800GTS 320mb...but i was wondering about the 8500GE...would it work as well? since they arent reference cards...should be the same thing right?

8800gts 320mb is sufficient to run games at 1680 x 1050 with all those eyes candies n u can hardly notice different of the 640mb version... i was shopping for a 640mb version b4 but after much reviews shown that ther's almost no performance different between 320mb n 640mb version at resolution upto 1680 x 1050... that's y i settle for 320mb version...

galaxy 8800gts 320mb oc version is running at 550/900... but i'm running it at 580/900 with chrader clock at 1350mhz...
*
Gosh, so good to hear this. If not, i might need to wait even longer and save even more money for the 640MB. By that time, it would really be a never ending cycle to me. From the 8600GT, waited so long, then went to the 8600GTS...Waited again..Out comes the X2600 which makes me waited.

With 22" LCD now, seriously, i am starting to think i should not opt for something lower than the 320MB 8800GTS...Going broke really really soon..

I tested some games with my card on my LCD, some games are good, some are demanding for my card to handle.

STALKER max settings on 1920 x 1200 is just playable, mouse movement is lagging. 1680 x 1050 is great, although graphics will be not that crisp. NFS series, nice but sad that it doesn't support WS. GRAW is good enough to play with max settings with 1920 x 1200. Test Drive Unlimited also smooth with max settings. CnC3, haven't try it out. Now I wonder how my card will handle Crysis on my LCD. Guess might have to spend more getting a GTX at least. sweat.gif
*
STALker and C&C 3 works perfectly with my GTX.......the shadow looks real.....

BTW, is it worth for me to use a 22' lcd widescreen with my 8800GTX.....im currently using samsung 205BW 20'......

Not to say worth or not, its just depends on your satisfactory. You don't have to follow what others do like pairing a high end card with a uber large screen. Its not a must also. But also don't make your GTX runs on a 17" also lar. tongue.gif

For your case, I think its quite alright. Its would be good if you can afford 24" WS. But that's just a suggestion. If you're satisfied with what you have now, by all means, use it. Rather than wasting money on something you don't necessary need. smile.gif

Might be because the game wasn't intended to support WS capability..

Would it make a huge difference in term of performance by getting those pre-OCed version of the 320MB 8800GTS compared to the stock ones?

1 more thing. I saw a different cooler used in the eVGA ACS3 KO series. They even have one on the 320MB 8800. Does it perform better on the card in term of cooling or its just a facial makeover that doesnt do any difference...

Does all 8800GTS 320MB use Green PCB?

Already surf through all manufacturer web site (eg. Asus, MSI, Gigabyte ....) all of em show black PCB...

Then scroll through review shows green PCB, which ones which? can anybody confirm it? blink.gif

well it seems vista is having difficulty in OCing ur Graphic card, so a OC version would have already done the job for u.........

btw the KO version fan is position differently if not mistaken, it should have better performance like the ultra version does.........

Well, i have seen from some sites especially eVGA is using green PCB.Most of the black ones are the 8800GTX or GTS 640MB series. Maybe they reuse those picture in their website though..

Yea, i have quite a number in my list right now depending on which i can afford. In fact, if by end of the month i couldnt afford one, i might opt for the 86series as well..

I have seen eVGA, Galaxy and Palit all in my list.

Palit --> Cheapest price available. No point spending more in other brand when it is totally the same in specs, cooler etc.

Galaxy --> Always been my favorite brand. Price is fine at RM1.1k. So, only topup like RM50 to get this. Still need to make sure whether its factory OCed or not.

eVGA --> Only at their ACS3 KO series and its price. Love the cooler and design. If the price is like RM100 differ from the Galaxy and IF i could afford, this would be my first choice...
