Yea, that should be a main concern. How do you feel about the card?Worth the money?

I am just worried that this card might not be able to handle the new 22" LCD i am ordering. Thats why i am still in doubt..
*
my comments is like many reviewers across anandtech, guru3d, vr ...

actually i do feel a bit disappointed after trying this out, even at OC'ed state, still can't play NFS:C at high settings smoothly at 1280x1024. the AA and AF is dragging the card down, due to its 128 bit, in COH campaign first mission, there will be noticeable frame drop whenever there's explosion, and zooming farthest away from the battlefield.

ur 22" LCD what resolution? I highly doubt 8600 series will be enough for that on high settings, only can be said barely enough for dx9 games. If u have patience, wait till 8800gts price drop, or wait for ati's hd2600s, its coming in june,
many ppl now are waiting for ati's midrange to arrive, only then to decide which to choose

I am also waiting for ATI's midrange, but looking at the specs I don't think it's going to get any better. The "midrange" HD2600 has a 128-bit bus like the 8600GT - so I very highly doubt it's going to be any better than the previous ATI midrange, the X1950Pro which has a 256-bit bus.

It's like NVIDIA and ATI do it on purpose; making the midrange cards suck so you have to buy their flagship cards if you want to run your games at high-res AND be DX10-ready :/.

22" inch natives at 1680x1050.. so no prob the card can handle it. even my old 9600xt can handle the native res. heck..my old GF4 TI can handle 1950 something no problem. but the problem is wether it can suppor games on that setting. but to be honest i dont mind playing games on non native res just as long as the game runs smoothly.......dunno about u guys lah but to me gameplay is more important that shiny eftects.......

so far the card performed good. I even OC the fella till 650/900 running smooth and stable... Well my 3Dmark05 hit 10kabove.... kinda impressive to me for such an upgrade.... The goodthing is it is not power hunger. thumbup.gif

If install the zalman cooler (if there is) i think i can further OC the fella to 700/1000.

Will share if i have OC till the limit.

by the way, retail seldom sell... buy from forumers la... can try "Useless" he is selling kinda low price...

Well, if its really true that the ATI mid range card is also running on 128bit, it seems no point in waiting for them as well right.I do not neccessary need to play games on 22" native resolution but of course, if possible, i do hope it will be able to handle it..8600GTS seems like a possible solution for me unless the 8800 will drop price like crazy in the coming week..

temp isnt limiting the OCablility, but voltage is, so unless u wanna try out pencil voltmod, there's little chance to OC it till 700/1000, eventhough it will, but it will crash more often and perform even worse than lower clock

ok.... My benchies seems abit higher maybe because of my +4600.
I bench mine at 650/900 to get the 5k+ in 3DM06. I have a feeling it will hit 700/950

damn 20 K for 05? holy god in heaven. i only trust 05 scores since it doesnt take into account the CPU speed as much!

btw people.. does the RAM efect the score. i suspect it doesnt. so anyway this past few days my GTX is idling at 78C. weird.. it normally at 71C..

eh for 8800 series... does all manufacturers use the same fan?

because last time, even 7900gs came with various fans, coolermaster, zalman, and other oem type

so for 8800 is universal for all brands rite? All major brands look almost the same, except the winfast TDH extreme version, looks like transformer biggrin.gif

dude... a question here..

when i run 3Dmark01 with my 6800GS, the result is about 20K but when i run my 3Dmark01 with my 8600GT, the Result only shows 23k... do you face this as well? atually i expect the 3Dmark01 to be more than 25k... looking at forumer cstkl1 result, it is so huge difference...... wow.... shocking.gif
