So, downloading the driver from nvidia's site would surely be the latest stable one?

Really hope the problem is due to poor coding of the game. If not, even the 8800GTS series looked doomed on DX10 games..LOL..

I guess there might or might not be a 256bit 8600GTS. But one thing is confirmed, there will be a 512MB 8600GT or GTS. I have seen one from Calibre as well as the announcement at the Computex...

Side by side comparison when it comes to gaming wise, would the 8500GT DDR3 be better than the 7300GT DDR3?

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Jun 11 2007, 01:38 PM) Hard to say. If Ultra is to be priced at USD599, I think GTX will go down to around RM1700 or even less. If that's so, I might consider upgrading, getting a 2nd GTX if someone is to sell his for Ultra. Keeping eye on some forumers liao. Haha. LOL..that means i also can wait for people to upgrade from GTS to the GTX/Ultra and grab it at an ultra low price as well..LOL..If only the GTS at that point is around RM600 for 2nd hand.. |

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Jun 11 2007, 02:17 PM) Haha yea, but RM600 for GTS is not possible as of now. Around RM1K range I guess. Just hope it won't drop too much. You just got yourself a great deal. How does it performs on a 22" WS LCD? Feels great right? LOL..I do agree i got a good deal with irenic. Very nice price indeed. Performance?LOL..I havent even get my hands onto either of those. GC is still with irenic as he is posting it to me maybe today or tomorrow. Was about to COD with him today but he cant make it..LCD, its still at my hometown lying inside the box. Will get it by this weekend and test out the powerrr... |

QUOTE(Hyde`fK @ Jun 11 2007, 02:24 PM) Dead pixel had already been tried and tested before by my cousin at my hometown so i am pretty much sure its working fine. All i need to do i power it up with the most expensive (yet, a very cheap bargain) hardware i ever own and i can enjoy the best of it..Will post some benchmark if possible as i heard from irenic, his card can get very good benchmark even on stock...QUOTE(Phoenixwunin @ Jun 11 2007, 02:27 PM) As for me.. I have to hold my decision of getting an 8800GTS for now... suddenly I have financial problems.. might take some time before I can officially join the green team... Just wait for the right time and you will get a good deal.. |

QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jun 11 2007, 05:09 PM) which brand of 8600gt is good? My budget is rm500, cannot more than that. I saw All IT sell gigabyte one rm500 and asus 528 like tat. And another question, my fren play online games like WoW and he is looking for better framerate becos when like 40man raid really cannot play one... changing from 6600gt to 8600gt will help alot? Or getting a 7900gs oc'ed one better? But maybe future there will be better dx10 online game coming out so dunno which to buy also.. For me, without a doubt, go for Galaxy if you dont mind the bundle is weak. CM cooler should be better than the reference one and Galaxy is a good OCer. Not sure whether they are preOced or not but since its from Galaxy, it should be..From bulk sales, i only saw it going for about Rm485 which is below the RM500 mark.. QUOTE(ben3003 @ Jun 11 2007, 08:03 PM) oh i see... becos i scare in the future online game will implement dx10 like the upcoming warhammer online see interesting but dunno whether is dx10 or wat la... but he is using win xp. Another thing is 8600gt is cheaper than 7900gs. How about 8600gt brand? I dunno which is good.. 8600GT cheaper?Should only be around RM10 - 20. 7900GS now are going for around RM499 brand new while 8600GT cheapest should be around RM475. Not much difference there. Many people here are still wondering how good will having a DX10 card be and it still remain a mystery. One would say, get DX10 because it will future proof abit but what if the situation goes wrong?Let say, 8600GT are not able to handle DX10 properly? That would result to an upgrade as well right..Therefore, its just a gamble here on which to take. 7900GS is tested and proven on DX9 platform that it will beat the 8600GT but yet, still no benchmark on DX10 as off yet. Take your pick...EDITED: Anyone knows whether MSI 8800GTS in Malaysia come bundled together with COH or not?Reviews are stating it is but not sure in Malaysia thouugh.. One of the main factor should be that most of them do not have the time to design a specific cooler for the 8800. Until now, there is only about 1 at the market which is the one from TR...Dont think that previous cooler for the 7series generation are anywhere near good enough for those hot 8800series...So, its still better to stick with reference that perform well also..
QUOTE(kelv!n @ Jun 13 2007, 02:20 AM) sry for asking these noobish question but im eager to know the difference between this few graphic card beside the price... 8600GT and 8600GTS are basically the same but the GTS have a higher core/memory speed and external power connector. Other than that, their specification is the same..8500GT 256MB DDR3 @ 128bit 8600GT 256MB DDR3 @ 128bit 8600GTS 256MB DDR3 @ 128bit 8500GT wise is a lower edition from the 8series. Have lower memory bandwidth, less unified pipeline etc..Correct me if i am wrong.. |

QUOTE(Rio Silverwind @ Jun 13 2007, 12:42 PM) Hmm.. 1st time posting here and wanted to find out more about the TurboCache thing with the nVidia card. In my own term, TurboCache is a technology used by low end GC to be able to utilize the memory of the PC as part of the GC themselves. Take it in this sense, your 8600GS originally has 128MB (assumption). If your GC need more memory in running some graphics application, it can consume of the the memory of your motherboard and use it like its own memory to handle those application smoothly...Actually... more looking into the new laptop release by BenQ .. the Joybook S41... It says using nVIDIA GeForce 8600 GS... with turbocache 1GB... anyone able to explain more indepth of the actual ram available, kinda noob on this sort of things. But AFAIK, if you wanted to run the full 1gb of turbocache memory, you must at least have 1256MB of ram. |
