got ps3 u still wan an add-on bluray player for 360?kaya nyer...

Apa la ko ni valppy, always get me wrong , i just share what i've found on the net. And i just explaining to obefiend the whereabout to buy a Blu-ray Disc Movies.

My impression is different...with the bluray add on for xbox 360, more people will be buying xbox 360 than the ps3, and this will definitely has a big a impact on the sale of ps3, which is already in the very slow growth, and...the winner here will be microsoft...and the big looser will be SONY..Hmmm...picture this...then the Microsoft will have the say which format that will receive more support from them....such an excellent marketing strategy by a cash rich company...they should thnx SONY for promoting the bluray format for that..i doubt that SONY will take the same step too....

ps. If the rumours id true....I cant imagine how many SONY will be loosing their potential buyers for PS3..and cant wait for the add on at half of the the price of PS3..good job Microsoft for making xbox 360 a true gaming console with full enjoyment of HD world....

Actually it is better if the person is a gamer, if i'm a person who wants to watch blu-ray movie, i would go for PS3 for US$599, rather than buying a Xbox360 Elite with Blu-Ray add-on for around the same price, this is because the PS3 already got the function in one box, rather than a quite bulky add-on as you've seen for HD-DVD. Many of the movies made for HD-DVD already come out for BD-ROM.

If Blu-Ray wins the war, this is not good for me, because I'm Sony-hater (yes I own PSOne, PS2, and the PSP...), but the Blu-Ray is made by Sony, every company that's making Blu-Ray player must pay royalty to Sony, this is same to Toshiba when DVD went famous 7 years ago, this will make that arrogant japanese company to control the media market.

The point is....the format war is still undecided yet... having a ps3 will only cater for BD viewing....but if the rumours is true..having an xbox 360...will cater for both formats...BD and HD-DVD....pls bear in mind..the format war is still a long way to go before anyone can claims that they r the clear winner...There is no proof that BD is winning the war, as long as there are still buyers for HD-DVD media...and not all movies for HD-DVD r released for BD too..and I have no clue where u got the info????

Again, just imagine what is the reaction of current xbox 360 users that plan to jump into PS3 world just for the BD viewing..as I can assure U if this rumours is true....it will be a big lost to SONY...

Just chx out the avsforum....tehre is rumours that the largest superstore in US, Walmart ill start selling HD-DVD media only in tehir store...again, it is just rumours, just like the news that the BD add on will eb available for xbox 360..

This month will be a great time for both HD-DVD and BD fans....Complete collection for Matrix for HD-DVD and Pirates of Carribean for BD ... ccc..the format war is still a long longggg way to go..so, enjoy both formats while u can....

Sounds good for me. I have been enjoying the games on 360 and there are certainly more movies on the BD side. So, the add-on is a good thing

I dont think we'll see movies here being released on BD for quite some time...

but the BD add on for 360 is only for watching movies, for gaming still use normal double layer dvd, while the ps3 bd is for movies and gaming format as well

Even with the xbox 360's games alone..I can't cope with my times....with the BD add on , it will be a plus for the already abundance supply for new release of xbox 360 games, and HD-DVD media.

Only thing left out is how much MS will charge for the BD add-on. Seeing they sells the 120gb HDD at a ridiculous price.

Well to be fair also, even if BD outsells HDDVD or vice versa we have to look at the big picture.

So let's say in week 23 BD sells 23000, and HDDVD sells 20000.

In an industry that sees MILLIONS of DVDs still being sold, it's nothing more than a small percentage of that for now. I say there's a long way to go before we can even declare a winner.

That's the tricky part. Microsoft peripheral could have been sold at cheaper price but no, instead we get some ridiculous price.

That's the problem when competition on the market isn't so tight...yet. PS3 still haven't catch up with the momentum of 360, thus letting Microsoft doing whatever they want now. (note: Xbox Live Marketplace with lotsa rip off left & right when arcade game on Sony Network is like constant $5)

So, until the day Sony is back on track. HD-DVD add on, BLu-ray add on..or whatever Microsoft peripheral won't be cheap!

Of course, it's only in the US that the HD-DVD lost the lead, remember, I'm Sony-hater, the victory of BD will not be good, the war is yet to over.........

u never know.....what is inside microsft mind???? Selling it at lost is one of the penetration strategy that is widely used by large corporations in order to kill the competitors....and it is not the first time it is being adopted by Microsoft...with its huge cash reserves....

Yup, the same strategy for PS3, which losing hundreds on one unit sold. It is expected for a big corporation to see some profit in the 3rd or 4th year in the console lifecycle, the 5th and the rest is huge profit, this is absent with the first Xbox, and Microsoft game division had never made profit until now, but I seriously doubt they re-coped the losses made before this....time will tell......

Well for one, the 120Gb HDD option is definitely not selling at a lost. In fact it's totally the other way around. But they may sell the BD add-on at lost just to compete with the PS3.
