R u going to get x70?

U can check the professional car blogger review, very details n accurate. Im driving B segment car, honda city. Never test drive other suv, cant give u good feedback. For sure is im happy owner 😂 love the comfort ride n its Adaptive Cruise control

What the review not mention is the actual FC, mine as mention b4, is at high side. My city drive 12L/100km above, but havent calculate the 100% highway fc.

Reason i choose x70 is it is worthy, offer the best spec compare with other more expensive suv, smart car fun to ride, comfortable, ACC, good looking solid car, high FC is acceptable for my weekend car, support proton so that geely will intro more cheap fancy car 😂 but the top reason for me is it is CBU, no doubt in decision to take first batch without test drive

your FC is a long term FC ka?

FC is bit of a turn off

Fuel is biggest turn off as many reported 14.5litre per 100km...that's really high n thirsty .

What about other suv consumption?

I think cx5, crv n tiguan are contenders.

If all have similar fc, then it's acceptable.

Booked x70...like all features except fuel. Gonna use it daily for highway.

CX5 real malaysian owner usage very positive, 10-12 km/l

X70 dont hv good FC at the begining back in china. Its selling points r fancy spec, safety & quality. If fc is ur top concern then u may skip x70 d n get those high efficient expensive car 😂

Long term worse, 14-15L/100km. Around 12-13L/100km is my new adapted driving behavior
*
Your remark is the ONLY real malaysian owner FC, and once my wife tahu, terus she dun wan. She is quite an advocate for the X70, now turning to CRV and CX5

but if you calculate the total cost savings from better FC, even at 2k km monthly mileage, for 5 years, cannot beat the 30k cheaper car price of the X70
*
im very well aware of that, haha! but when place that into account (plus i really ON for the CX5 isntead of the X70), more the reason to say no.

At the end of the day, if the buyer wishes to buy with full loan at 9 years, best they rethink again.

The maintenance of the SUV isn't going to be cheap. 19" SUV tyres aren't cheap (yeah, Ling Long brand pun ada, boleh jimat duit... LOL). The ATF is RM500 every 3 years, coolant RM119 every 3 years, spark plugs RM112 yearly.  Fuel consumption is gonna be hell as it's 1.7 tons beast (not your 1.2 tons B segment Japanese car). Wait till you see the price of the shock absorbers & lower arm bushings, these gotta carry a 1.7 ton car.

The RV isn't gonna be great too, so you'll end up having to pay back the bank hire-purchase should you decide to sell before 9 years.

In short, if you're just about making ends meet, think again coz your pocket can't support your desire.

thumbsup.gif Kinda agree with you. Face value wise, x70 does look appealing, but I think those who can really afford x70 should be from the group that able to afford those like ~>130k ish cars like cx5 low spec.

For those who are thinking to stretch their financial to step up from cars B-seg like Honda City or even HRV should think twice due to the reasons you stated above.

For example, x70 probably consume almost close to 2x the fuel of Honda city (based on some users feedback above that it can touch 12-14L/100km, and a Honda city typically average around 7-9L/km, both mixed driving), if B-seg needs to pump RM200 per month, then x70 will need RM300-400 per month. Not mentioning other maintenance cost.

I did think all of these points over, my wife and kids mahu the X70 due to the brown nappa leather interior, extremely nice look & feel, the sunroof especially, and all the bell & whistle. The CX5 im looking at would have to be the 2.2D or the CR-V TC-P in order to compete with the features offered in the X70, thats a clear ~40K difference.

Stretching everything over 5 years, including higher FC, higher maintenance (30k change spark plug, WTH?) and all that, it will only come to ~RM8k in all these extra compared to CRV and >RM10k to CX-5 since that one comes with free 5Y service.

If you betul2 jenis tukar kereta here and there, do not take the X70 laaa, Proton/Geely RV will take some generations to match T&H RV. So overall, i still save over RM20k for (IMHO) nicer interior look and feel, OK looking exterior, beaten only by the CX5, and bigger internals (kalah to CRV).

And yes, this Proton is not your typical Proton, for the common Malaysian in term of financial strain. Even malaysian T20 also financially could not afford the car, apa lagi the M40 and B40. /k standard no hal la.

Sorry bombard you with many questions, just that seem not much people talking about this car navigation system.

I have few more questions.

If use Baidu maps can it show turn to which junction on the speedometer screen? Like Civic. Is the map updated like Waze/G maps where almost all shop/restaurant can be found?
*
baidu, not updated very well, but then Im in sarawak, maybe thats a different, but damn it outdated. However, i like to route/junction entry display, quite accurate.

Maybe because of the voice command function the power window need to have full auto.

From Paul tan, all spec same except Premium have anti trap for all windows.
*
Only Premium have anti-trap all windows, others only driver side, or non at all.

Voice control for windows, only in premium, for whatever reason.

why doesn't the x70 use iridium spark plugs?
*
you can, kalau you mahu, but why bother?

thats why X70 plugs tahan like 20-30k km saja, kalau iridium 100k range, but replacing the plug 4 times is cheaper than 1 set of iridium.

And also service booklet ckp itu macam, to maintain warranty mesti follow service schedule. So apa mcm pun, kena pakai normal plugs.

Better stick to the service schedule to ensure warranty jalan. We still dunno how durable/reliable our X70 is, but as of now since release, it has been quite stable bruce.gif

how long have u been driving it? im considering between the new cx5 and x70
*
Me sin e January, mileage baru 8k saja. But I've seen ppl pakai x70, longer than me, mileage clock 20k. No complaint or issues.

CX5 boleh, it's a nicer looking car (exterior) but aaa... Pakai x70 turbo engine, you cannot accept other 2.0NA engine anymore.

But Cx5 2.2d or 2.5 still boleh go head. But those are like 50k premium already.
