Whats the top speed?  i saw one at 213km.
*
195kph. Any X70 showing above this speed means they've remapped and removed the speed lock.

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Sep 12 2019, 10:29 AM)
the dct combo with 1.5T is the new engine to replace the existing 1.8T & 6 gear auto of most geely new model.
considering they designed it under the volvo supervision, hopefully there are no issue for reliability.

however, we still did not know how the maintenance requirement of this DCT. will it need relatively expensive service as per DSG VW? or will it follow Hyundai DCT/ Honda DCT where it is relatively cheaper than VW?
*
Shares the same as Volvo T3. However based on what I heard its not satisfactory, . Even Volvo uses the T3 on their lower end of XC40 range. which is why boyue pro, they've gone back to 1.8T w/ DCT.

Just for curiosity, these new engine from Geely cw gdi configuration. What is the solution in long run for carbon deposit issues etc?

So far only saw Toyota which use both gdi + port injection to solve the problems

Install Oil Catch Can.

But this IHBC will auto reset to off after few cycles 🤯

Then have to manually set it on again

Not Bug, condition driven. Set your headlamp to auto, and try test the car in pitch black then wait for a opposite car to appear

Hello all. Looking to buy either a Cx5 2.2d 2018/2017 or a new proton x70 premium spec.

Anyone recently got an x70? What's the interest rate I can expect? Planning for 20% down-payment with 7yr loan.
*
I have both X70 and 2.2d SF. Both are remapped.

x70 close to 240hp, 370nm on crank, speed lock removed
SF 200hp, torque limit <500nm, speed lock removed

Acceleration from standstill there is no way diesel can sprint outrun x70. tested with stock as well. however on a highway, the 2.2d can bully the hell out of x70 in a rolling acceleration. Petrol will have turbo lag, VGT diesels will give instantaneous boost at lower rpm. As for top speed, lets just say x70 will still crawl faster beyond 200kph. diesel will take some time before hitting 220kph

pls explain ihbc again.  If i use autolights, ihbc will slso auto on even it show off on setting display?  I notice this a few times, ihbc is on even it shows off on display....then sometimes ihbc is off on settings n do not respond when driving in darkness.

You mean ihbc will auto on when lights select to auto on?
*
Yes. I've tested on IHU 2.3.3 below. For 2.4 I did not test or update as there's a lot of feature being removed.

QUOTE(Pugbunny @ Oct 23 2019, 06:13 AM)
The headlamp is always set to auto. I'll monitor again.
*
Yes for IHU 2.4 update I have not tested it.

QUOTE(dextm @ Oct 23 2019, 07:43 AM)
Can please explain this? Can do DIY or need to get SC to install. Thanks.
*
I would advise you DIY. SC will tell you there is no need as there's a oil separator. No matter how there's still vapour escaping and in the long run the oil may clog your intercooler. essentially its up to you to decide. Some SC may be concern since its a foreign install which may affect the warranty.

QUOTE(jabz @ Oct 23 2019, 09:39 AM)
hi, what do you mean by speed lock removed? is it the standard ecu in x70 have speed lock? at what speed?
thanks.

and you done the ecu remapped, may i know what is the damage?

thanks
*
Lock at 195kph. you can test your car and see if it can reach 200kph. We have peeled the ECU rom and check the instructions.

MYR 1500. we have a remap session next weekend at USJ. You can consider if you want to unlock your x70's performance. If there's no performance difference after we remap we can revert everything back to stock and you don't need to pay a cent. Power output on wheel will be more than 200 hp, on crank close to 240hp. torque 350nm on wheel, 370nm on crank. No dyno included. However if you do not get the 200hp and above, let us know we will inspect and configure.

Did you install the oil catch can?

Any recommendation on the brand?

Still thinking whether doing the intake valve cleaning is good enough to avoid the carbon built-up instead of the oil catch can
*
No. I Don’t. Cause I seldom drive this car.

You don’t need to do valve cleaning at this early stage. Valve cleaning requires disassemble of the top head which is a no no for warranty. Just claim for warranty if there’s a problem with your engine.

QUOTE(modjojojo @ Oct 23 2019, 05:43 PM)
Will service centre know we did it when we take for service? if yes, will warranty be void? sorry... noob questions.
*
No. We have a lot of customer going in and out of the service center undetected. I even have the scanner tools to show the rom date is the same as the original manufacturers. My own x70 also have gone through the service center. The only issue is when the service center tries to update the ecu or tcu , quite often they will rewrite over the old rom which you will lose the performance rom. But no worries you can come back to us and we can reflash back to the performance rom.

I foresee this will double the x70 fc figure. What the real fc after that remapped?
*
Mix bagged of comments. Some of my customer claim improvement in highway, myself was able to hit around 6+l/100km with sedated driving. while in city, no changes.

my overall comment is no change in FC unless you press out 190++hp all the time, then yes you will see a drop in FC performance. So it depends on your driving behavior. The tune and the ecu will try its best to optimize the fuel if you drive with feather pedal.

Attached is my past FC with ECO map. now running the street custom map as I feel the power output mid to top is much more worth my driving style.

Hi guys... 1st time coming back to Lowyat Forum after sometime...
Our X70 car battery doesn't really last...
Mine give up without warning today.... mileage is 40.5k km...
Cost me RM410 replacement with delivery and installation at JB... Haiz...
The battery guy told me to use DIN60 which is smaller in size compare with my original...
Still wondering which kind to use... But now after a few start up yesterday night it is working fine...
Warranty only for 20k km or 1 year...
Which will be over within 6 months for me for the mileage haha....
*
Should maintain use of the bigger battery. Biggest current draw is from the IHU.

Original size should be DIN70 I think... DIN60 also can cos 60Ah same spec with ours....
If DIN70 will be around 500+...

yeah. but how often do you no drive your car? I would encourage you connect your car to your home wifi if you live in a landed house.

can i ask how did you get the actual output figures without doing dyno?
*
Use my ecu map as the base.then trim it. You can go Dyno on your own to get the base line figure. After remap you go Dyno again to see the difference. If it's not above 200 whp you let us know. We will tune it again to achieve the power as promised. Else, we will revert back to stock and return your payment.

Thanks for sharing!

But, it's not a good news, if the article is accurate. I don't understand why on earth people prefer "Proton drive and handling" to Volvo's involvement on Geely's handling in the new Pro version. Maybe, that fine tuned by Volvo's module couldn't put into this non-PRO body. Overall, it's a shame not to get the PRO version, the improvements are exactly the weakness of X70.  doh.gif

Can someone explain what is so good about "Proton drive and handling" as compare to the current X70 or other brands such as Toyota or Honda? Thank you!
*
Protons drive and handling is closes to lotus tuned handling . Pro version is just the same as our standard suspension. Geely and Volvo has no spectacular handling signature, unless it’s a polestar tuned machine.

Bro, pls do me a favor, try testing gentle throttle at lower RPM, turn off yr music/tuner and feel it, especially in town/taman area with lots of bump, the shaking/rattling noise comes in during gear 2,3,4

Or maybe 2WD without such issues?
Ya, those are mostly reverse gear jerking
Just did today, the foreman told me they updated all the system bla3, and said that the issue fixed.

So i fetch them around and keep mentioning, the rattling noise came in during low RPM/ gentle throttle, just after the first corner after gear 1 shift to gear 2, then before shifting to gear 3, the noise came again doh.gif

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Dec 11 2019, 10:07 AM)
or general thumb, always park the car under the covered parking to extend the battery life. my record, Panasonic MF battery stand about 3.5 years on my 2015 accord. change after SC asking me to change it due to low level of power and recommend to change it.
*
unfortunately parking under covered parking or not does not change the battery lifespan. There are a few factors which influence the drop of the battery

1. Frequency of driving. The higher your frequency, the more charges cycle it can keep the battery above 80% charge. Wet batteries have a high cycle of charge however it needs to have more than 80% of charges all the time. If it dips below 80%, the lifespan of the battery will drop dramatically

2. heat, if you're constantly driving under hot condition, e.g stuck in jam for many hours daily, the heat will also reduce the lifespan of the battery. Our X70 comes with a aesthetic engine cover which serves to insulate the heat

3. Accessories. Depending on how the accessories shop wire the component, e.g powerboot, 24 hrs surveillance dash camera, if these components do not have a cut off or constantly drawing power, then these vampire will suck your battery dry if you have a low frequency of driving

4. Signal reception. Yes when you're at a low frequency of reception or a high interference location, the 4g module will need to work hard. this would be an issue esp when you park the vehicle at lengthy periods. the unit will try to increase the SARS energy to ensure a good connection. I will always suggest users to log into their home wifi if its possible. the amperage drawn by the wifi is much lesser.

5. manufacturing defects on the battery.

6. key fob detection within its vicinity. If the key fob is nearby the car, alot of the cars system will start from sleep mode then enter standby mode. This is a fast boot mechanism to ensure owners would not feel the slow system warm up everytime they going to start the car.
