Change to 15' and use tyres 195/50/15, NOT 195/60/15 as in your poll coz that is too big! By changing to 195/50/15 then you can use much better tires like Hankook V12 Evo 2. If just use 13 or 14 inch then can only use low end tires with poor grip.

Not if you use lighter rims, so don't just buy cheapo fake rims.

original 175/65/14, does upgrade to 195/50/15 will really consume more petrol (provided getting new lighter rim, and eco tyres)?

No, it won't make much difference if any, even if you use UHP tyres!

serious?

then what about braking on wider tyre, any difference?

also, what about performance, would it underpower?

The threshold of the braking would be better/higher where ABS would not kick in as soon as the tire has more grip, so you should be able to stop sooner in emergency situation. But there'll be no difference in your brake pedal feel. Performance would not be underpowered too. All these if you use lighter rims so that your total package of rims+tyres weigh the same or less than your stock, and your total diameter is more or less the same as stock.

That's nonsense! Actually can still upgrade to 15' and use 205/50/15.

If stay 14', no good choices available, only lower end models like Michelin Xm2 or maybe the Dunlop Sport J5.
If go 15' then got more good UHP tire choices, like Hankook V12 Evo 2, Michelin PS3, and Goodyear F1D5.
