Odoi looks our most dangerous player but I'm kind of annoyed that we always delay our pass towards him. Haih.

We caught them out at least twice trying to play it out of their own half but failed to punish their carelessness.. Slightly frustrating but to be fair it's only one goal.

Extremely disappointed with barkley btw. Needs to do more than just neat turns.

Damn our defending has been atrocious. Ahhh I can't believe hudson odoi has to make way......

Get barkley out la he's been invisible. Odoi deserved to finish the match imo.

We looked lethargic. Particularly disappointed with barkley,morata and pedro. Need to step it up big time vs huddersfield.

Odoi looked like our best player in patches. Special mention goes to willy. Pulled off some amazing saves to keep the scoreline respectable.

At least we didn't get schooled 4-0 and we had a couple of great chances to get at least back a goal.

After getting all hot and bothered about yesterday's performance,i think it's safe to say we need to put things into perspective.

We faced last year's premier league runaway leaders and their players performed to a standard and style of play that was befitting of a squad that had the luxury of being in a system, coached by one of the best managers in world football for about two seasons.

Yes they were missing kdb and silva,but you'd be mad to think that hazard and kante aren't 10 times more important to us,in comparison. I'm still excited and kind of worried about the new season,but all these top four / top six predictions are just premature imo. 'Positive' football is finally back at the bridge and i can't wait to see it in all its glory once the players completely grasp the system!

I think the players are stuck in between 2 systems right now. Practically all of them have been trained to play an all out defense counter attacking style,cultivated by both jose and conte (mainly his second season). The transition will take time,and teething problems will definitely be a hallmark of our early season run-in. However,I firmly believe our players are more than capable to adapt to this system,especially technical ones like hazard,willian,cesc,etc. Whether the board actually gives him time to actualise their dream of attacking football remains to be seen,but his distinct lack of complaining about the transfer market means he'll always be their 'ideal' candidate.

We're not big spenders anymore and sooner or later I think we need to accept that. My biggest complaint about the game though was how we were messing up the basics. 5 yard passes were being misplaced by everyone from azpi to cesc and everyone wasn't playing aggressive enough in trying to win possession. At least moses and drinkwater came in with more fire in their tackles but alas the game was lost by then.

Tammy deserved that tap in though. Can't believe barkley managed to underhit that low cross so badly. Like I said before,messing up the basics.

Kepa,kovacic and fekir rumours coming in thick and fast. Knowing our cheapskate board,butland,vecino and some random winger from Italy are all more likely.

Oblak will set us back £89 million. Allison went for about £66 mill. Kepa's release clause is £71 million but he's 3 years younger than the latter. Oh and he'll definitely go straight to the starting line-up,no way we pay that kinda moolah for a benchwarmer. That's just the market these days man. Crazy is just putting it lightly!

Oops my bad. Anyway the kovacic rumours are everywhere now. I'd never imagine chelsea even being linked with him in this window!loan with an option to buy would be a fantastic deal imo.

£71 million minus £35 million from madrid for tibo. £36 million net spend for a potentially world class keeper who was touted to be de gea's successor sounds like pretty decent business. The fact that he's sarri's choice bodes well for his future too. Get him in!

For the record I don't think we made an official bid for alisson as his mind was already made up on joining pool.

And the number of available world class strikers are....?that's right,a big fat zero. Please don't mention lewandowski,bayern fended off madrid's interest with their eyes closed. Belotti?had an average season at torino. Timo werner?another massive gamble.

Besides,we're at a disadvantage as we can't offer CL football. We're stuck with alvaro but I still believe he can come good,and age is on his side. No matter how we mince it,a top class goalkeeper to replace tibo was always going to cost a bomb. It just sucks that snake had to pull this nonsense when we've always had a huge contract waiting for him,and he's never had the guts to just straight up tell the club he wants to leave and submit a transfer request. I don't care if he wants to be with his children or even his pet cat,u don't be a douche by running down your contract and going AWOL to force the club's hand.

We've always been more than fair towards players who were upfront about leaving,his compatriots kdb and lukaku are prime examples of this. The honourable thing to do was sign a simple extension perhaps last season,to ensure we don't get mugged by any buying clubs,not to force him to stay. It would be a different story if we had a history of keeping players against their will and threatened to throw him in the reserves or something. We've always been professional even in the face of all his annoying interviews. We even sold a club legend to accommodate this guy. Bloody hell. I hope navas keeps him on the bench for a season.

He's backed us into a corner here,plain and simple. I'm just glad kepa's clause wasn't £100 million instead,because oblak isn't interested and there aren't many top class keepers available in the sarri mould. Not an ideal situation but hey at least he'll give us 10 seasons minimum.

Kovacic woot wooootttttt. No option to buy,sadly. gotta remember priority is getting back into the CL though so he'll definitely help with that. all is not lost, he may fall in love with london soon and we can negotiate with madrid!

Had to do it,as it strengthens us for a top four finish. I'm sure marina and co can work something out,especially since our relationship with madrid is pretty good. If modric doesn't leave next season or they move for milinkovic savic,I can see us negotiating a fee for him.

Jorginho,kante and kovacic in the middle. That's pretty insane! Fekir would be the icing on the cake but I'm not getting my hopes up

it's a 9/10 transfer window for me, personally. fekir would've been nice but if that means less playing time for hudson odoi then i'm okay with us missing out.
