Yup. They change the rule couple of years ago apparently.

Surprised how many people still don't know about the rule change that was implemented quite awhile ago. But what's funnier is professional players and manager like Conte himself too were seemingly unaware of this fact. And then there are expert pundits like Keown who are paid to talk football and also unaware of the change.



Important to note that this only apply for "accidental" fouls. "Deliberate" fouls ala Suarez playing goalkeeper at the WC is still a sending off.
