Courtois, a Belgium international who won the Golden Glove last month as the best goalkeeper at the World Cup, left Chelsea for £35 million in a deal that included midfielder Mateo Kovacic leaving Madrid on a season-long loan.

"During my career, I have given my best in all the places that I've been," Courtois said at a presentation at the Santiago Bernabeu. "From today, I can achieve the dream I had as a child. I have been a rival and I know what it is to face Real Madrid.

"I fulfill a dream, the one I had as a child when I dreamed of stepping on the pitch of this stadium with the colours of Real Madrid, the best club in the world. I am one more Madridista fan and I want to measure up to this badge."

The deal had been a long time in the making for Courtois, who was sent on loan from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid for three seasons before returning to London in 2014. He had long expressed a desire to return to Madrid to live closer to his two children and declined to report for training earlier this week.

Club president Florentino Perez said Courtois is "one of the world's best goalkeepers, if not the very best," and congratulated him on being able to join Madrid.

"You know well that the city of Madrid is your home," Perez said. "Your heart is here in Madrid with your children, and from this moment on, the Santiago Bernabeu forms part of your family, too. I hope you will be very happy with them, with your children, Adriana and Nicolas. As of today, you are part of a club that does not know the meaning of the word impossible."

Madrid announced an agreement with Chelsea on the move on Wednesday night, and Chelsea followed up by signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao after triggering his €80m release clause.

Everton have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea over a loan move for Kurt Zouma.

According to reports L’Equipe, as cited on Get French Football News, the defender is set to join the Goodison Park outfit.

The French defender has been heavily linked with a move to Everton but faced late competition from Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho, who has spent the day searching for a new central defender, had reportedly spoken to the Chelsea defender in an attempt to convince him into a move to Old Trafford.

However, Chelsea did not want to sell the player to a direct rival and Everton appear to have won the race to sign the player.

Zouma spent last season on loan at Stoke City after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge and he was unable to do enough to help the Potters avoid relegation.

Everton have been looking to strengthen defensively, with Yerry Mina also set to join the club from Barcelona.

Fekir has been a target for Liverpool this summer, with the two clubs agreeing a deal earlier in the window before the move fell through.

Chelsea have now been alerted to his availability but the Blues fell short of Lyon's £75m asking price with a bid.

Badge kissing is one of the worst offences for any footballer these days, simply because it usually ends up means so little. Thibaut Courtois has annoyed Chelsea fans by kissing the Real Madrid badge already.

There is no loyalty in football these days. It's said often enough about footballers and their constant moving teams but it's applicable across the board as clubs are ready to get rid of their players at the drop of a hat.

These days there's always a slew of players ready to go on strike and not bother turning up for training for a few days in order to get a move, when that was just a thing Winston Bogarde did because Chelsea didn't want him turning up.

Thibaut Courtois didn't think he'd get his move to Real Madrid in time so he decided to stay at home, force the Blues into breaking the three week old transfer record for a goalkeeper and then move to La Liga for half the price of his replacement- clever.

Never mind the lack of respect it might show to Chelsea it's worse for fans of Atletico Madrid. Courtois really made his name at Atleti and now he's signed for their most hated rivals and kissed the badge on day one. You wouldn't want to see Diego Simeone's reaction to that.

The Madrid derby could be a tasty one.
