Sell Courtois for money. Put Willy Caballero as our main keeper this season and slowly hunting for #1 next summer.

Poor poor game. We deserved to lose the game. Instead of hoping to catch a glimpse of Sarriball, we got Pepball!?

The same crappy attitude of last season's performance. This is what you get when you don't spend good money on special player wisely.

Morata is a clueless striker. Slow pace striker that mainly cannot be trusted as our main striker. No wonder he's only a sub in Real Madrid. He has to be partially accountable for Conte's demise.

We really miss Diego Costa aren't we? Damn, even Giroud or Batshuayi won't make any difference!

We are lacking of leadership or motivator in John Terry. Alonso more suited as LWB than a LB. David Luiz is crap and I'm not sure why he's still our first choice and hopefully not this season. Jorginho was a quick passer but this team ain't Napoli.

Rudiger had a decent game. Azpi has no form. Ross Barkley was so so and Danny was Danny, nothing more than that. Pedro had a poor game together with Cesc. The only Chelsea player worth our time watching was Hudson Odoi.

The one thing I don't like about Willy is he likes to be too up from the goal post. Anyway he made a few good saves tho. Could have been easily around 5 or 6 - 0.

Overall poor defending, passing and upfront. We need a striker like Zlatan or Aguero.

After getting all hot and bothered about yesterday's performance,i think it's safe to say we need to put things into perspective.

We faced last year's premier league runaway leaders and their players performed to a standard and style of play that was befitting of a squad that had the luxury of being in a system, coached by one of the best managers in world football for about two seasons.

Yes they were missing kdb and silva, but you'd be mad to think that hazard and kante aren't 10 times more important to us,in comparison. I'm still excited and kind of worried about the new season, but all these top four / top six predictions are just premature imo. 'Positive' football is finally back at the bridge and i can't wait to see it in all its glory once the players completely grasp the system!
*
Hazard, Kante and Courtois were our key players. No denial in that but Chelsea really need to get the players that suits Sarri style of football. Majority of these players were too slow to follow Sarri's system and the most disappointed thing was the lacking of fighting/comeback spirit and leadership/motivator attitude. Most of these players were highly paid and we expect serious quality.

Hudson Odoi really understand the system but it would be pointless if only less than three players able to follow the system. Based on my observation yesterday, the players can't do a Sarriball when our opposition played a high and fast tempo game.

The only Chelsea's Sarriball I witnessed was the first half of our pre season friendly against Perth Glory.

Overall, we need a formidable defenders and goal scoring strikers. I m not worried about our midfielders too much because I believed they will come good in the future with Jorginho and Kante partnership.

30 points of difference in #PremierLeague ranking between #ManCity and #Chelsea last season.
#Sarri asked till now these players:
1 #Higuain
2 #Alisson
3 #Rugani
4 #Caldara
5 #MilinkovicSavic
6 #Vecino
No one is a #CFC player.
Not easy to start with a trophy

We are playing against Lyon for the ICC tournament on early Wednesday morning at 3:00am (Malaysian time). Our last pre-season match.

How confident are you with our team this season?

Thibaut Courtois tells Maurizio Sarri he wants to leave Chelsea during meeting at training ground

user posted image

Thibaut Courtois has told Maurizio Sarri that he wants to leave Chelsea during a meeting at the club’s training ground, according to reports. The Belgium international returned from his post-World Cup holiday on Monday to start training with his Chelsea teammates ahead of their first Premier League fixture against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Courtois is wanted by Real Madrid this summer and the 26-year-old is keen to return to the Spanish capital to be with his two children. After Chelsea’s defeat to Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, Sarri insisted that he wanted to speak with Courtois before a decision was made over the goalkeeper’s future.

Courtois’ agent Christophe Henrotay had claimed last week that the Belgian had already communicated his desire to leave to Chelsea’s hierarchy. ‘I have no reaction on the agent. I’m not interested in the agent, I want to hear if Courtois tomorrow will say the same,’ said Sarri. ‘I have to speak with my club. I want only players with high level of motivation. I don’t have any answer to the agent.’

But according to ESPN, Courtois has now made his intentions clear to Sarri during talks at the club’s training ground in Cobham on Monday. Chelsea, however, are refusing to allow Courtois to join Real Madrid until they sign a replacement. But Chelsea also risk losing Courtois to Real Madrid on a free transfer next summer as the Belgian’s contract expires at the end of the season.

That's why my initial suggestion is to play Willy for 1st choice this season while we hunt a new cheapskate keeper for next season.... thumbsup.gif

Chelsea have informed Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga that they are prepared to pay his €80 million (£71.5m) buyout clause with the player set to make a decision about his future in the coming hours, sources have told ESPN FC.

Kepa has emerged as Chelsea's preferred choice to replace Thibaut Courtois, who declined to report for training at their Cobham training ground on Monday as he attempts to force a £35m transfer to Real Madrid.

And with time running out before the Premier League transfer deadline on Thursday, Aug. 9, Chelsea have decided they are willing to make the 23-year-old the world's most expensive goalkeeper, as well as their third signing of a chaotic summer.

It seems like a club trend now to smash transfer record on a goal keeper than a striker.... blink.gif

Willian hammers Conte for selling Diego Costa: You don't lose a player like that

QUOTE
The striker was sent back to Atletico Madrid despite his three seasons at Stamford Bridge, a decision the Brazilian feels was the wrong one to make
Chelsea star Willian has criticised Antonio Conte's decision to force Diego Costa out of the club last year.

The Spain international spent three seasons at Stamford Bridge, winning two Premier League titles before he was ruled surplus to requirements by Conte.

The Italian coach sent the forward a text telling him that he did not need him in the squad, which Costa described as "a moment of madness" before sealing his return to Atletico Madrid last September, even though he was not eligible to play until January this year because of the Spanish side's transfer ban.

And Willian feels the decision was a mistake from Conte, revealing that he had a few issues with the figures in the dressing room.

"He also had problems with David Luiz and Costa," Willian told ESPN. "With Diego, I remember it was after the season. I was in Australia with Brazil and Diego texted me.

"He said: 'I'm leaving, Conte said he doesn't need me anymore'. I said: 'What do you mean?' And he said: 'He texted me saying that he doesn't need me on the team anymore and I'm not supposed to go back'.

"You don't lose a player like Diego Costa. It was a difficult situation."

Costa scored 58 goals in 120 appearances for the English side before returning to the Rojiblancos, where he had previously won La Liga and the Europa League, and reached the Champions League final in a successful four-year spell.

Willian is not the first player to regret Chelsea's loss of Costa, as club legend Frank Lampard said in May that the English top flight is not the same without his presence.

We have to pay the price of winning a FA Cup by losing Diego Costa..... cry.gif

That’s a crazy turn of momentum from the Blues there, as we’ve gone from spending four months on getting the Sarri deal done to taking less than a day to shortlist Kepa and pay his buyout clause. Funnily enough, we had also refused to break the transfer record for goalkeeper by spending €75 million on then Roma player Alisson, who joined Liverpool instead, just to spend €5 million more on the Spanish keeper.
