I ever rent a house when I was studying in Miri, semi furnish, as the bed is on my own. When I am moving out, it caused me headache, we need to arrange for lorry to carry the bed. Otherwise, you may give it free to the owner. But on my case, the owner asked me to carry away

I prefer fully furnished. But make sure the things provided is worth it. I prefer to do some maths.
Let's say you are paying RM300 extra for a fully furnish unit. Times by 12 months would be RM3600. RM3600 for 'renting' sofa, tv, dining table, bed etc. Say you dont want to rent but buy your own, just calculate how much will it cost you to get the same items. I doubt you can get all of those with just RM3600. Most probably will cause you 7-8k to furnish the whole house. And never forget the depreciation in value of those items, say around 30%(or even more!). You will end up having a household item of 5k, and will cost you 1-2k to move out, but the item remains the same item. Then your wife will ask you for a new furniture (LOL)! Better just rent a fully furnish you get to change house and household items every year no headache for you and your wife haha. This post has been edited by thenazek: Apr 9 2018, 12:56 PM |

QUOTE(jcts @ Apr 9 2018, 02:07 PM) Then 1 year is extra RM7200 for fully furnished, what is included in the fully furnished? Sofa, bed, washing mc,air cond, stove oven, microwave, fridge, dining set, study set. This is very subjective, you need to check whether the fully furnished items worth for RM7200. |

partially furnished,
ts might not like "decoration" by the owner, but basic stuff like aircond, freezer, cooking stove make not much different even though it comes to your own "taste". |

Cost wise:
- short-term just get furnished so you avoid the capital costs of buying. - long-term, buy, as it is cheaper Practicality: - if renting furnished, you can move in, move out, someone else take care of furnishings - if not furnished, furniture is your responsibility (or headache) This post has been edited by howszat: Apr 9 2018, 08:34 PM |

Honestly landlords usually buy the cheapest stuff of net for ff units.
For me a good night sleep on good mattress n good aircond is important. And good curtain n bathroom facilities. Therefore i never rent ff for one yr or more. Bare means got lights fans n aircond boh? |

Furnishing is quite worn out by previous tenant. Walls darken and stained. Smell weird, expecting new paint at least.

Quality furnishing provided is cheap. Bed looks like falling. Almost items are from landlord existing home.
