Just for the sake of DIY enthusiast out there...how bout the 'Ressurectors' provide some pointers on where we can get the necessary tools and parts to perform the x clamp solution.

For example, the specs of the screws and washers and a particular shop to buy them from depending on location...

and also the Torx screwdrivers, could those be bought at any hardware shop? Any specific recommendations?

Do note, I'm not gonna perform my own surgery (Dr. Virgil is still performing my surgery)

You can call this just-for-education purposes and is in no way trying to steer business away from all our hardworking Doctors and Ressurectors.

I hope you guys will contribute to this thread, cheers.

You can find everything here.

QUOTE(for the Australian Parts)

Store: Bunnings Warehouse (Store Locater)

2 x Dan's Premium C/S MT Screws & Nuts Size 3/16x1/2 (Qty: 5 per packet)
2 x Zenith Flat Washers 3/16 (Qty: 25 per packet)

I used 3 washers on the bottom of the motherboard, and 2 on the top.

I cleaned the CPU, GPU and heatsinks with Arcticlean, and re-applied with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Premium Compound.

Australians can buy those thermal products here.

Thanks.

But i was hoping for a more 'local' source to that tools and parts.
I'm pretty sure those in the UK, US and Australia will find it helpful.

Names of shops, for example, Ace's Hardware or something like that would be helpful.

Ask tot31, he was able to get some of the UK parts I think.

In the last resort there's always PJ to FedEx a bulk of parts for distribution here laugh.gif
