You send in your photos and if we chose to publish your photo on AvesMag,
then we going to state the source (your name) of the Photo and probably your contact number as well.

It is somehow like a free advertisement for you but in return you need to give us a one time license to publsih your photo.

What do you think?

Need couple of info from you :
1. How wide is your circulation?
2. You mentioned that the mag is 'periodical' ... 2-3 months once or longer?
3. And you mentioned 'stand a chance' ... what happen to images that are rejected?
4. Do we get a hard copy of the magazine from your office? Where is it by the way?

Thanks smile.gif

Answer to your question:
1. 40,000 copies
2. Published on monthly basis
3. We will still keep it and may be published for up coming issues of AvesMag. Those photos that are not chosen for that particular month does not mean the photo is not good enough. Is just that there is only limited space for the Photo Gallery in AvesMag. (Unless you want it back.)
4. If we published your work on AvesMag, then we going to send a copy of AvesMag for that issue right to your doorstep (But make sure you give us your address!) biggrin.gif

Don't really understand what you mean?
You mean whether you can earn money from sending in your photos to AvesMag?

Yes. That right! That one is for Travel Experience column. If you have good travel experience to share with us as well as good photos, then you can might as well send in for both the categories.

Regards,
J-Claran

Where can we read the legalese regarding how the submitted pictures will be used/reused by AvesMag? Is there a black & white or are we to trust forum postings? Of particular interest to me is the grant or no-grant of right of reproduction and resale of images submitted to AvesMag and maintaining the original copyright and ownership with the photographer.

The way I see it is that we're helping AvesMag, out of charity, to justify its existence and circulation based on its primary subject matter of travel and vacationing, and AvesMag is probably funded by advertisers for its printing, distribution and any magazine staff stipends.

Correct indeed.
But it is still up to the photographers wanting to submit or not.
Business is always business.

If you feel your photographs deserve better price and rights, can always approach more established magazines.

Of course there will be black and white!! We will also not publish your photo even you send in your photo without any black and white. There will be an agreement between you and AvesMag if you send in your photo. So do not worry.

The copyright for the photo sent to AvesMag will still belong to the owner (photographer). You can still reproduce, resale the image after you send your image to us. The only we will have is a one time publication liscene of the photo. That all!

It may seem that sending your photo to AvesMag only benefit us but it also benefit the photographer as well. For the photo published, we will publish the name, contact details of photographer. All credit of the photo will go to the photographer. It will be somehow a free promotion for them. We get something from you but in return we also give soemthing back to you. Isn't that a WIN WIN solution.

Cheers!

Hi, will the 'black and white' of the terms made known before we submit in any photos?

How about the Copyright issue?
I am just curious, don't you have a representative, official email. Why Yahoo!?

However, this idea is so right. Indeed many foreign magz have bunch of freelancer contributors for the publishing works. thumbup.gif rclxms.gif Start shooting/

OK good to know that. That's pretty much standard for any printed media.
I hope it bears the identification of a legally-registered entity or person.

LOL this really cracks me up, anybody can just post a message on a forum and get people to send pics and work in:

circulation of 40,000.... either it is being backed by a brainless-tycoon, has super salespeople that can sell adverts based on extremely shoddy cover mock-ups or the obvious... it is just a false figure.

Why will the documentation only be ready next month? Asking for pictures now but no paperwork ready?

For a company that has the ability to conjure up a monthly circulation figure of 40,000 (which requires a good couple of hundred thousand $$$) this company doesn't even have it's own email... hmm.gif hmm.gif hmm.gif

Ok so maybe i'm being a little harsh, but the best possible situation that i see now is that this is a poorly organised publication... just look at the planning stage, what decent company would lay out their upcoming plans in a public place for the whole industry to see?

Wish the magazine and the participants the best of luck tho thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif
