Not sure about the FK510 availability, browse through the official, no such product available. But strangely, a recent campaign listed FK510 in their poster :

Anyway, i just dropped an email to them to check whether the availability is real or not.

I too am eagerly awaiting for the FK510, but seems like time is not on my side since i'm in need to change before mid year.

Seeing how FK453 was priced, i realise it is slightly more expensive than v12evo2. So likely that FK510 will be priced at a slight premium (optimistic) to FK453, or will be really close to what PS4 is selling now. It will be at least another year for the supply to stabalise and the price to moderate, so FK510 won't be the econo-performance choice i guess...v12evo2 will still reign in this space.

The only saving grace for the FK510 would probably be fuel economy and refinement. From my findings from a US site when randomly browsing (too bad lost the link), the FK510 is a touch lighter. And from the EU labelling, depending on size, generally most of FK510 has 1dB advantage against v12e2. I guess it would be a good alternative to ps4 for those who just don't want to be associated with brand snobbery or wanting to be a little different than the normal choice for performance. Hope the FK510 can be priced right, anything less than 10% lesser compared to ps4 will relegate it to a really niche choice to those that are falken brand loyalist or those that prefer the tread pattern of FK510 (like me).

If really it is around 80% of F1A3, then the pricing should be quite close to the MC6, not bad actually. Meaning the pricing should be similar to FK453, also indirectly means that FK510 will officially replace FK453 in our market. But by seeing the campaign poster, both are listed alongside, which begs to question what is the standing of FK510 for falken malaysia....

It could likely be available by that time, but being new intro into the market and supply not stabalised, the pricing could be a put off. Even with really popular michelin, when the ps4 was launched, the pricing was 20-30% higher compared to now.

So i'm likely to veer my choice to the v12evo2 as i just found a tire shop that sells at reasonable price. Unless, of course falken malaysia choose to launch it at a reasonable price from the very beginning.

On a side note, stay tuned for possible hankook new releases. Hankook will be participating in The Tire Cologne, an international trade fair on tyres and they seem a little secretive, just promising there will be product "world premiere"; hopefully the evo3 series

I still think hankook may introduce evo3 series, as mentioned in the article, they "promises other world premieres" after mentioning the new all weather tyres. Fingers crossed

*Till this day, falken malaysia has not replied my email regarding the availability of FK510. Why the heck then publish the email address when no one is attending to it??!!

I'm using 215/45/18, but since this is odd size, i'm looking at 225/45/18.

On my area, the best i get for v12evo2 was RM400 (all in), s1evo2 seems like no one knows other than for SUV size (like for the new VW Tiguan).

I last checked for my size FK453 is around RM450, so i presume FK510 will be around RM510 (my unscientific pricing estimate, just follow the series number )

Recent good news is, i just got a reply from falken malaysia :


From his reply, indirectly maybe does seemed like certain sizes already available in the market if know where to look for it. That means good news for good performance tyre seekers, looking for something other than ps4/mc6

Don't hold your hopes high for the time being and hold on to your guns. If you can wait, you wait. I checked from another shop, it is currently more expensive than ps4 when i checked last week.

Official launch at august, so current supply quite limited and marketing of fk510 is unofficial. Better wait until at least launching to see whether got any good deals. Or else, wait till next year when supply is more consistent and the price stabalises.

Here down south, a lot of tyre shops quite against falken tyres. Even i asked the largest falken dealer in JB, so kanasai way of replying me, the way the person talk to me makes me want to give him a middle finger. M One is the more understanding one that is willing to go the extra mile to help me get the quote i require (albeit very high)

Shit that "singapore premium" attitude by the business people Salary and rental lower than, then how can your operating costs be more than those in KL/Selangor??!! Please also don't say logistic costs, because there are 2 damn large international ports in Johor state and some more just a bridge away to one of the world's busiest port country!!

Very hardly go that area, last time went around there was more than 5 years ago.

Who did you contact for the price? Maybe i try asking whether they have some form of outstation delivery support.

Housing, depends on location, but despite the glut, the prices aren't coming down. 70% of properties sold there are above 500k. Normal hawker here start asking price average RM6 per meal without drinks; supermarket food court close to RM10. I don't know about those in your area, but i guess won't be that much more.

Computer/IT/electrical stuffs, your area definitely cheaper; sometimes singapore cheaper even after considering the transport hassle. Car service price, similar price level and sometimes a little bit more expensive as the consumables are more expensive to procure. Clothing/apparels, pricing a little subjective and not so direct, but from what some of the ladies saying, the trend in the south is slower. Water cost, hands down Johor win, the most expensive in Malaysia (but not a bad idea to discourage wasting).

But salary wise, Selangor area about 20% more on average The only thing those in the south can be grateful is the traffic jam not as insane, but we do experience a fare share of it on trip to and fro singapore.

My pricing estimate was kind of there and some more same price as v12evo2 here, but FK510 not available here

No choice lar.....can't really wait. The factory tyres left about 10% thread left and some are already at the thread life markings. Further, the front outer sides are chipping/flaking off badly because the thread fully ran down.
