My parents want to buy Panasonic or LG AC for their room because their current York Y series is kinda noisy and undersized for their room.

Their old York aircon will move into cats' room. Yes,the cats will stay in an air-conditioned doom.

I suggested ME because I use one but they want either Panasonic or LG with inverter only.

Update: Managed to persuade them to buy inverter Daikin with R32 gas

Panasonic only quiet for one year. later it become noisy and more noisy

I use Daikin, York, Samsung, Panasonic before
Among them i choose Daikin the best..in terms of cooling (not the best), quiet (not the most quiet, but same noise level for long period of time, unlike others)

I personally use ME & York by JC at my own home.

I have 2 LG, 1pana n 1 mitsu, so Panasonic sux in terms of cooking powr, noisy and not as good as LG, my previous was also LG, which lasted 11yrs+

dun be like aunty and uncle always compare between Brand , now days one brand made many different model to cater different group of customer, compare apple to apple, orange to orange , dun take year 2000 product to compare year 2017 product

Daikin is Japanese brand. Good brand.

For me, air conditioner (no matter what brand) are all the same. I think there is no extra ingredient/component in any brand to make it significantly superior.

My guideline would be:
1) Choose from known brand for good service
2) Choose the one on sales

Right now the 33rd Sharp anniversary. Many products are at 33% off retail price and there is 33 chances for lucky draw for purchase value RM1k and above. If you are lucky, you have option to buy combination of good worth around RM7k for only RM33.

Just installed a Daikin 1.5hp in my living room . . . . not satisfied, because new aircond not as cold as my Mitshubishi (which is more than 15 years old).

I also use Samsung, the inverter triangle design. Almost reaching 4 years edi in next few months, still good like day 1, never serviced before lol.

I think they've improved a lot. Many said Samsung sucks refer to old models, but the latest triangle design that I use, feel very satisfied.

Newer gen I feel Koreans getting better. Panasonic so many I see complaint, their QC dropped edi, not like old times.

My Panasonic vacuum cleaner max can tahan 2 years. Now change to Samsung, better suction performance, hopefully can last longer.

Yes, currently got inverter plasmacluster model on offer, 1.0hp for RM1,205, pretty cheap for Sharp I guess. Just that it's a model using R410A gas, the very latest seems to use R32, that one not on offer throughout this 33rd year anniversary campaign. Still, good offer I suppose.

- Noisy, not as cool as other brands and also easy to break down.

For sure, avoid Samsung brand aircond.

At home i use york, daikin , LG & panasonic.

York = 1 unit always rosak..refrigerant leak, compressor damn noisy but powerful cooling
Daikin = using inverter series, compressor noisy but great cooling
LG = its an old unit 1.5hp, compressor not that noisy & cooling is not bad (jetcool series)
Panasonic = new addition to the house, 1hp inverter, compressor very quiet compared to the others, cooling abit slow..

York cooling king > all

My home got two unit samsung 360 cassette.
hope it is reliable af. and it is not cheap

Panasonic sucks. Evaporator coil leak less than 5 years.
Sensor easily spoil.
The capacitor for indoor motor solder on. Difficult to change.

York very common to have capacitor problem for indoor motor and outdoor motor.

Sharp is japan brand also? Any good?

I can confirm it will become bising.
My waifu bedroom uses York, gooding and sejuk.
Before this I use Trane, quite good also but not really long lasting.

Like you also, I heard so many things about Samsung aircond, but when I saw it in bestdenki, really racun bunga chibai weiii. With that small screen playing video about triangle design, more air in, more air out, and most of all, I love that the filter so easy to clean, just straight away take it off instead of open cover, take out 2 pieces.

So yolooo, syukur almost 4 years no problem. Performance itself, waaaaaay better than Mitsubishi Electric inverter in another room. Cools faster, very quiet too.

Baloi liao for me. I feel if next time wanna add air cond, I want this new Samsung wind-free triangle :

Go for normal pana or york inventer 1.5hp series will be better for long term. I opted for panasonic sky series. One year on, it chock with dust inside. It design seen to prone to dust build up. It cost more to service too as it require more job to take it apart due to it circuit board below the blower. Those it cost more for each service. I need to take it apart to service every years as it just not suitable for here. The price is also higher. 1 hp = 1.5 hp normal inverter unit. Skip that sky series.
