Strange there are so much hardware support for avi/divx, mp3, dvd, etc. but none for realmedia files, from dvd players or hdd players. Is it license issue or technical difficulty? |

Why you want it so bad?
Usually rmvb videos doesn't comes in good quality although there are some in good quality, as good as avi. avi/divx is known to have a video in great quality |

RealNetworks is keeping the RealVideo codec proprietary.

to play real files, hardware makers needs to pay Real royalty to include in their DVD players. and besides, it's crappy, blotty and DivX/Xvid has become the de facto standard for compressed movies on the net nowadays. Find any converter that can convert real --> AVI and you'll be fine.

QUOTE(soulfly @ May 12 2007, 10:54 PM) RMVB is slightly good at lower bitrate and low resolution compared with divx. Just that. Nothing more. For some unknown reason, it is very popular codec among TVB traders. In terms of other feature and characteristic it fails miserably. DiVX and Real are evil, at least DIVX will never come close to RMVB annoyances. |
