Hi all I used to take antipsychotic for 7 years and it has some side effect which I cannot accept.Recently I visited a new doctor and he gave me Lexapro,an antidepressant and said that this will not have that particular side effect.I was told to take my antipsychotic alternate days and then go off it and take my Lexapro daily.I decided to just quit taking antipsychotic and just take my antidepressant,I cannot believe my depression amp up and I started to withdraw from people.

no matter what... all drugs have side effects especially those that meddle with the mind.
i do not know what caused your symptoms but if you are diagnosed with having depression, you best have someone to talk to - even if it's for nothing, having a company makes a lot of difference and it makes you feel like life is worth more while living than anything else. go for a holiday, alone if you are uncomfortable with people - explore new places - see new things and talk to strangers. you'd be amazed what those could do to your sense.
this may sound crazy but don't share your problems with your parents - let them know your condition but never let them try to cure you because parents (although with good intention tends to over hype thing and that could be very bad for you).
i am speaking this from experience. i started experiencing symptoms of depression some time last last year and although all those qualified counselor were convinced that I don't have - i know myself better. i felt like life has nothing to offer me anything and that i have seen everything and it's time to just - lay and go away.
life seems to have lost all purpose but that is not the case.
depression is a dangerous friend and withdrawal is its ally, the latter is very addictive. once you tasted withdrawal - you will want to dwell into it and never want to back out ever again. my advice, don't fall into its trap.
always find new things to do - something you like. don't be surprised if you find a new hobby.
i am much better now but i do sometimes find myself cradle back into it but i need to realize it fast enough before it consumes me - don't let it consume you.
drugs are just temporary - don't allow it to take control.

Man, don't tell me you switch right away? That's a bad idea man! Many psychiatirc meds have withdrawal syndrome one, need to decrease slowly & gently
