Hi all, I have bought a PC last year and recently something unusual happen. When i'm playing dota2, very frequently the game will freeze and cannot continue to play..i need to alt-tab to my other app and open task manager to force close it! Then re-open again! It's frustrating! My pc spec as below: CPU - Intel i5 8400 GPU - GTX 1050Ti GPU Driver version - 391.35 RAM - 16GB Please help, not sure if the processor's problem. My CPU usage very high (almost 90%) when i play dota2. Anyway to check whether my CPU got problem? If so i need to instantly go back to the shop and exchange /******************UPDATE**************************/ HERE IS MY PC SPEC http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/8280960This post has been edited by McSam: Apr 14 2018, 02:59 AM

After 4 months of using your system, I don't think you can bring it back for 1 to 1 exchange ...
Base on what you describe, sound like it is game problem. If it is your system problem, the whole system will hanged and you cant use alt-tab to select another programs ...

Would storage play a part in this issue, too?

But my CPU usage is extremely high when playing dota2, based on this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H8H0WV_urA) the CPU usage should be around 60%

Try changing it to DX 11 mode. It helps to lower the CPU usage.

Bro, try checking Windows Task Manager, and go under Background Processes or Windows Processes.. you could be affected by a malware/bug that is cranking up your CPU usage to the max. I once affected by this because i clicked on *ahem, ahem*, and have to reformat my Windows 10

Run MSI afterburner and monitor the temperature or use HWMonitor to see if the CPU is throttling. You can also try scanning with malwarebytes free to scan for malware. Make sure all the drivers are installed for your hardware.(Open Device Manager) And make sure the latest update for Windows 10 is installed.

I have tried msi afterbunner...my cpu usage is around 70-80 which i think is abnormal....i saw a online benchmark should be around only 50%

Try to clean your HSF Then run prime95 for 30 minutes to 1 hour, if crash something not right.
