Last week i sent my 4 yo Alza to Perodua service center for service (90K over km). Normally i sent to perodua for a major service so that i could ensure the original parts.. During teh service, i was told by the mechanic, he saw some leakage on the flywheel oil seal. He told me that should i decided to sent over the car for repairing, they need at least 2 days, and the cost would be around rm600-rm700. Since i was on a hurry, i told him i will call him for more info..

My questions are:

1. What is flywheel & oil seal?
2. What could happen should i decided not to repair it?
3. How long it could last before it becomes spoiled?
4. Is the price is right for such repair job?

Thanks in advance!

It is located in between the engine and gearbox. To access it must remove the gearbox. Yes the total cost is very high even though the seal might just cost rm50. If you dont repair it, you need to always check your engine oil level and topup it if necessary.

1. seal between 2 parts..flywheel and engine i think
2. engine oil leaking.
3. already spoiled..just a matter of time before the leaking get worse and drain all your engine oil (if u didnt monitor)
4. sc job a bit expensive. did mine outside (myvi 1.3) lot cheaper than tht. just took one day.
