How do you know which band you're connected with?

I'm on Huawei E5770s-320 MiFi that supports Band 5, 38 & 40. It just shows LTE... nothing much... usage area - Shah Alam

Any idea the unifi mobile work with any powerbank mifi/lte modem combo (such as XM MF885 etc)?

Thanks.
*
I use one of my sim in Huawei E5770s-320 MiFi, support band 5 & 38. thumbup.gif but not band 40 sad.gif

QUOTE(chamelion @ Apr 5 2018, 09:11 AM)
Hi,

I am not familiar with the band thing; what is the implicant of not support band5?

ThanksĀ  smile.gif
*
In a nutshell, band = range of frequencies it operates. So, if the device doesn't support that particular band, then no signal. For example, band 5 (850Mhz). If the area runs on band 5, but your device doesn't support it, then it's shows as no signal. sweat.gif

Another example, say that your phone Redmi 4x. It supports band 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 38 & 40. It shows that it supports all Unifi Mobile LTE band (5, 38, 40). So where ever the're an LTE coverage, your phone should be able to pick it up. thumbup.gif

So TM don't want us happy free unifi user to become a long term subscripber ?

The want all the > 1,000,000 free users to just let go of unifi mobile ?

They don't want us at all ?

I have no idea what is on TM's mind.

If they want to make it prepaid, then have to think why people use prepaid and not postpaid.

First 90 days will start to expire in 2 weeks time.

I'm currently using MiFi too. But with it running 24/7, the battery has started to get bloated already. So now looking for a better modem router.

From here, I read that people are using the B618 or Tenda 4G680. Would like to know if it's worth to get the B618 as it's more expensive?

Thanks
*
Sorry no idea with B618 or Tena 4G680. sweat.gif

It's unnecessary to check. Just add 90days from the date of your last data, call, sms usage. If you don't remember the last usage date, just use it now and add 90 days from now.
*
Yah with given 10 sms, the sim last 'forever'. Use one sms every 90 days... whistling.gif thumbup.gif

If just count on Data Usage, already can used forever.
i.e.:
1st Batch: 20GB = 20971520KB, used 1KB for every 90 days = 1887436800 days => approx. 5167520 years
2nd Batch: 10GB = 10485760KB, used 1KB for every 90 days = 943718400 days => approx. 2583760 years
*
If I'm not mistaken, the data should be a minimum of 1mb to be counted as 'active' usage. hmm.gif Need to double check though. Read it somewhere before... sweat.gif

Anyway, it should last 'forever' thumbup.gif unless they change the term & conditions. blink.gif

Anyone has the problem? I just activated the line yesterday, and was on wifi all the time. At the time of activation still have 10GB LTE and 50mb basic data. Today I check my self care again, and the 50mb data gone, and LTE left with 9.95GB. I don't think I was able to use 100mb of data in such a short time span......
*
What phone are you using?

Certain Android phone switch to mobile data even though there's wifi available without notice. It switches when wifi temporarily DC.

Redmi 3S

My previous telco umobile and singapore's M1 all don't have this problem. Only unifi mobile is consuming 100mb of data in less than 8 hours.

Additional note: my phone shows only 173kB data used since yesterday, so it did not tally with the balance in the selfcare

Hmmm something not right with their data counter then... hmm.gif

They have updated the TnC:

4. VALIDITY PERIOD
The SIM Card will remain valid for as long as either one or all of the following activity is carried out;

I. Reload your Account
II. Purchase any Add-Ons
III. Perform any outgoing transaction in the form of Call/SMS/usage of Data

Should you fail to do either one or all of the above within a period of ninety (90) days, the SIM Card will become inactive and the Service will be Terminated. Any remaining Credit and/or Allowance will be forfeited. The Mobile Number will be released to the general pool of numbers. You will not be able to get back the same Mobile Number.

Last time is like this:

4. VALIDITY PERIOD
The SIM Card will remain valid for as long as either one or all of the following activity is carried out;

I. Reload your Account
II. Purchase any Add-Ons
III. Perform any chargeable activity in the form of Call/SMS/usage of Data

Should you fail to do either one or all of the above within a period of ninety (90) days, the SIM Card will become inactive and the Service will be Terminated. The Mobile Number will be released to the general pool of numbers. You will not be able to get back the same Mobile Number.

So confirm utilizing add on call/sms can extend the 90 days active period.

What's the different between outgoing transaction and chargeable activity hmm.gif

Did you send from the correct sim?

Normally I have 2 active sim (1 in current phone, one for heavy use in router).

The other three inactive sims I put in very old 3g phones (one dual SIM phone and the other single sim phone)

Every 3 mths I send 1 sms to each other ( 1 >2 , 2 >3, 3 to 1).

Till now after 10 months all still active.
*
Similar here... 5 sims, every 3 month, send 1 sms to one another. thumbup.gif Still haven't utilise that 20Gb free data. Hehe sweat.gif
