" My concern however is Unifi Mobile don’t appear to be transparent on the speed limit and I’m afraid they may throttle to a slower, say 3Mbps, at their own discretion. Note, the Telco offered free 20GB LTE data in January 2018, and then reduced it to 10GB free data at the end of February 2018."

Can the Unifi Simcard inserted into a 3G phone and use the free internet data? Or it must be used in 4G phone?

From now onwards, I hope all Malaysian will understand what "Rule of Law" is... If everyone follows the law (ie Fair Usage Policy), everyone is happy...
We have already mandated a new lifestyle here in our country after 9th May... so, learn to adapt from now on... Rule of Law prevails... |

May I know why my 3G DATA shows different amount when I check it using data vs using my home WIFI?
For example, when I use my Unifi Data my 3G shows 419MB but when I use my home WIFI, it is 519MB Where did the 100MB go? |

QUOTE(adam_lew85 @ May 21 2018, 03:53 PM) Can the Unifi Simcard inserted into a 3G phone and use the FREE INTERNET DATA? Or it must be used in 4G phone? As long as the phone supports LTE Band 5/38/40 and it connects to ANY of these band (which we can see from the status bar the word "LTE" or "4G"), it will use the FREE 20GB or 10GB data quota...So, if wanna use the FREE 20GB or 10GB data quota, the answer is MUST use 4G-enabled devices with Band 5/38/40 support...3G phone is strictly "prohibited"... Just remember this formula; FREE = Band 5/38/40 This post has been edited by azhar75: May 21 2018, 04:45 PM |

You can but you will lose a lot because whenever you buy your Data, they give half to the 4G.And you cannot subscribe to the Daily/ Weekly plans because they only are for 4G. In a nutshell. This is probably not for those with 3G phone (or phone that doesn't support band 5 LTE like some Xiaomi phones) p/s I tried this sim using a Redmi 4 Prime that doesn't support Unifi 4G band. I can use the 3G and basic internet but boy, you don't want to try This post has been edited by iskandarsuhaimi: May 21 2018, 04:05 PM |

Hi all sifu,
Thinking to port my tune number to unifi mobile, as low usage like 500MB per month only. Mostly use at shopping mall and foodcourt around Kedah area... tested with free sim on dual sim phone, look okay. Like to hear how the experience on coverage or 3g speed when in non-LTE band 5 area? And making/receiving calls no major issue nationwide? |

QUOTE(ikengkai @ May 21 2018, 04:54 PM) Hi all sifu, Indoor area have to make sure you have 3g data for extensive coverage coz most likely no 4g for indoors esp. shopping complex, tall buildings. For calls so far so good. TAC request also good.Thinking to port my tune number to unifi mobile, as low usage like 500MB per month only. QUOTE(ikengkai @ May 21 2018, 04:54 PM) Hi all sifu, In Ipoh, 3G speed is erratic. Sometimes it is super slow, sometimes it is like a standard 3G (or H). But no problem with calls so far.Thinking to port my tune number to unifi mobile, as low usage like 500MB per month only. Mostly use at shopping mall and foodcourt around Kedah area... tested with free sim on dual sim phone, look okay. Like to hear how the experience on coverage or 3g speed when in non-LTE band 5 area? And making/receiving calls no major issue nationwide? The problem with 3G is the data. It seems like the app just eat 3G data like a hungry Trex. You open whatsapp, send one message, and poof, 5-10 mb gone, just like that. |

Btw, if you are using one of the Bebas unlimited addons, they have already capped the speed to 10mbps. This post has been edited by Ngto: May 22 2018, 03:10 PM |
