Since the Fat PS3 is notorious for YLOD and overheating issues, do any of you fat PS3 owners still have a working one if not, what happened to it?

YLOD also. But was my mistake for removing the heat sink from the chip when it was not warmed up.

Yeah I used it heavily without maintaining it properly. First time it happened then applied new thermal paste. It worked for a few weeks then YLOD'd again. After that it can only start after 10 or so reboots. By that time it's as good as dead.

Kind of missing the games that don't get remasters like Skate series and Rock Band 3 due to the absence of keyboard support in Rock Band 4. At least we'll be getting a new Red Dead Redemption soon. Itching to ride in the wild west again.

i wouldn't recommend to repair it after YLOD or RLOD... even you able to fix it, most likely will work for days or weeks. if lucky, month(s). In the end still dead.

i did tried to DIY repair... last few days and gone. cry.gif

Mine is the 2nd gen (not the 3rd gen extreme slim)

No prob since 6 years ago.

But now revert back to PC masterace, as most games that i play on the PS3 are already on the PC platform =D
