At present, we are reevaluating the way we view modchips in this forum. Since there was never any rules that were put in place for this, it has been sort of a grey area.

Therefore, we are now brainstorming the legality of modchips among the moderating team and until that is done, we will hold all action.

I'd agree that the threadstarter didn't deserve the warn, but this needs a suspension if u ask me  wink.gif

Well since he doesn't give a shit about warns, thought I'd try and show him what else they can do.

Accidentally came by this thread and couldn't resist giving some input here.

It is not right that when I purchase a console, I cannot open up the case and change whatever I want to it. Do I not own the device or do I own only the license to use the device? Does this fall into IP? I think we need to differentiate between software and hardware. This definitely falls under hardware. Even if I mod, the most the manufacturer can do is to void the warranty.

So, I hope LYN will show some character in supporting small users like me.

Ah, but you have to remember... You are doing this on your own in the privacy of your own home... You're not offering a service or selling a product whose sole purpose is to undermine another product's functionality.

The issue at hand is not on modding per se (Which is one of the draws of the Xbox 360 marketting campaign) but rather commercially available modchips.
