I was a Lumia 1020 User on Day 1 and continue to use the phone until its screen cracked due to silly accident and eventually, the LCD gradually dead. About 2.5 years, I guess.
I do not think the marketed 40MP is a gimmick. At-then Marketing by Nokia/Microsoft Team was very honest and very clear of how they planned to use the 40MP Camera, super sample or whatever it was called and ultimately, a beautiful output and yet detail. I still continue to cherish all the moments, I had with the Lumia 1020 - all the photos I took were simply amazing - even on my PC Screen FHD. I mostly use PC to scroll through my Photo Collection.
Huawei may not present it very clearly but I believe those who are active in this Forum and following Mobile Photography should very well understand this.
