QUOTE(irenic @ Apr 4 2018, 10:19 AM) They are my personal opinions: Thanks for your opinion. 1- the display, despite it is an AMOLED, it is more like iPhone X oled, not a Samsung type where the colour is super vibrant and crisp. Yes, both are good, but my eyes are so used to Sammy's colour profile so at 1st glance, p20 pro looks a bit dull. 2- full hd+ display is still and can never be as sharp as 2k display. Bear in mind i compare these 2 phones side by side, so maybe that's why i noticed the difference. 3- the speaker is loud, but very empty or 'hollow', unlike s9+ excellent loudspeaker. 4- less features such as no microSD slot, no wireless charger. 5- kirin 970 is a bit outdated compare to exynos 9810 n Snapdragon 845. It is like you are buying flagship phone with last year's Snapdragon 835. Still fast, but better n newer one is around. 6- emui interface is very messy. 7- Huawei still use the combination of physical button and on screen button (if you don't use gesture mode) which is redundant and silly. Personally, i think it is a great phone.. but my statement is, s9+ is a better phone if you compare them both. |

QUOTE(celdric @ Apr 5 2018, 02:50 PM) I guess just like many here, quite stuck between S9+ and P20 Pro, not looking in the price point. However, I am shifting from iOS. Wanted a phone with software that can last long without much lag and sluggishness. Exactly like my situation man. Do update me once you have decided on which device to go. |

QUOTE(celdric @ Apr 5 2018, 03:57 PM) I actually don't mind the slow update, because I don't update my phone often as long as it can last me with smooth experience down the 1-2 years of road. Yea quite sad Google Pixel is not here and new one will be coming on near last quarter of the year. Want a phone that can give me smooth user experience with mobile gaming, daily task even after 1.5 years maybe? lol I know right bro.Hahaha, inner-self dilemma when I can obtain roughly the same price of Sammy 128gb with P20 pro. Because you see al the flagship phone sure tip top perfomance when release. My concern is how will perform 2-3 years later. Let say by 2020. Does it still smooth? Will it start to having problem after 1 year, 2 year, lag here and there, etc.. Coz for me, i cannot afford to buy new phone every year. Im still using iphone 6s that release back 2015. Until now still going strong without any issue and super minimal lag if any. If we see flagship phone that release on 2015, huawei p8, galaxy s6, they lag big time by now (2018) and having problem, plus no OS support. |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Apr 5 2018, 04:27 PM) I see. I think depend on the user also. QUOTE(SonnyCooL @ Apr 5 2018, 04:29 PM) not sure abt huawei but pretty show samsung can't do it. Ahh. Thanks for the input. Yah. I also eying the Twilight color.1. Poor battery life. (three year with note 5, thanks to note 7), i change my batt twice and is dying now. 2. Why too many samsung eco app which kill the phone performance or crash with other APP. that why i think of give p20pro a try, but they don't offer twilight yet... QUOTE(celdric @ Apr 5 2018, 04:35 PM) Mine was iPhone 6 plus release 2014. Hahaha. Except battery issue, app crash, occasionally auto shut down and some lag. I use it for some gaming tho. Yea same, can't afford to change new phone every year, so looking for a phone that can last 2-3 years without big performance hiccup. And iPhone too expensive these days. True man. But for iphone if expensive still about the range of other flagship. 3k+. Dont aim the X lor sure expensive. But their expensive worth it. Can last few years. Great OS support, and amazing optimization. Just for me im too bored ady with iOS enviroment. Wanna switch to Android and install TerrariumTV |

QUOTE(celdric @ Apr 6 2018, 10:44 AM) Yes Samsung Infinity Display catch my eyeballs, however like you and I, we want sth that last perhaps 2 years and above without much hiccups in the performance. Based on fellow forumer who replied me with their experience with samsung and huawei decive, i think both phone can stay perform longer than it used to be. Android devices in 2018 matured ady and now with Huawei AI implementation, it born fast and stay fast over time - That huawei tagline when it first introduce AI chipset last year. So i think should be ok if i choose P20 Pro. But i want it in Twilight color. Willing to wait till end of the month. Yea, so disappointed twilight is not here when all the preorder freebies flying around. But S9+ no doubt also a good phone. I think can last 2 years perhaps. Just a matter of our preference. |

QUOTE(rocktank @ Apr 8 2018, 12:13 PM) According to the website, I saw they offer couple of plans. One of it is first gold plus which is Rm98, the price kinda reasonable. Oh. That one for straight purhcase the device. Yah that one cheap. What i inform earlier is easyphone plan which some sort like installment plan from celcom. |

QUOTE(dreamers1016 @ Apr 8 2018, 12:57 PM) wouldn't it be better to purchase the RM 188 plan and have supplementary lines among your family members ? you'll have the device for free But that one is for P20 not the Pro ver. But nevetherless true also bro. Pay RM188 plan for 24month get the device free. Comparing if one take the easyphone plan they need to pay; RM98 (celcom gold plus plan) + RM100 (Easyphone) end up paying RM198 monthly for 24 month. |

QUOTE(chiahau @ Apr 9 2018, 04:01 PM) Why maxis more worth? Maxis One Plan 188 cost RM188 but only 60GB data and P20 need to purchase at RM1. Celcom on the other hand the Platinum Plus Plan cost RM188 also but with 100GB data and Free P20. Supplementary line Maxis cost RM48 (10GB?) and Celcom RM30 (1GB). |

Ok. P20 Pro design for camera. Not gaming. Then better bought compact camera instead. Sigh..
Spend 3k+ smartphone and gaming experience cannot at least be on par with 3 years old iphone 6s. What? So what is one would need to choose if they need better camera phone, android OS and at least good gaming experience? |

QUOTE(kevin23 @ Apr 14 2018, 11:31 AM) Udont need a powerful pc to play pubg. A decent one which probably costs the same as ur p20p will do. Its a complainable because P20 Pro is a flagship phone. Not just some midrange xiaomi redmi 1,2,3,4 etc. The phone cost RM3k. It may not be expensive for you but it sure expensive for others. Phones were never made to play heavy pc based games. Try playing fifa on ur phone. Totally not nice to play. For light phone based games like clash royale they are perfectly fine. To complain about ur phone not being able to play heavy games perfectly is plain dumb. There is nothing wrong playing pubg on ur phone, but it is not a dealbreaker in making a decision to buy a phone. I have tried pubg on my phone too but find it totally not nice to play at all. Some use their phone for entertaiment. Being in 2018, there so many games provide good graphic and enjoyable gameplay. Althought you might not enjoy the game, but there are others who enjoy it. |
