Taken from p20 Pro.. I think this camera is really good.. And the AI almost instantly.. The place is actually quite dim..

I zoomed in 100% and both photos looks a bit soft overall (like slight handshake due to low shutter speed OR the use of higher ISO OR focus point chosen), did you focus on the potatoes or the wrapping paper at the foreground?

Since the EXIF is removed, I couldn't tell the settings. My hand is not very steady, usually can handle shutter speed of 1/30s only. Interested in knowing how good the EIS is.

Mega pixel isnt everything , megapixel only let u to able to crop more , and able to print on Very Very Large Advertisement board , so u plan to use this 40mp phone to shot advertisement? Don joke bro , im come from DSLR photography , megapixel isnt everything , bigger megapixel will make more noise in low light , a good processor such as canon digic8 or sony processor make the pic look great and less noise , big mega pixel just let u to have a deep crop, 40mp its a waste of my memory space if u ask me

I agree that sensor size and technology are more important than Megapixel. I think Huawei is smart enough to make 10MP output as default because downsizing image appears to make noise less obvious. Even though the image is overly processed - high saturation/ contrast/sharpening/noise reduction. But it looks totally fine on phone screen.

And most P20pro fan don't know/ care about the sensor. It has a larger 1/1.7 inch sensor (almost twice the surface area than competitor) with Quad Bayer structure pixel binning tech?). I think the sensor contribute significantly in image quality improvement. I'm surprised Huawei doesn't make this a selling point, instead emphasis heavily on AI. They even disable or choose not to mention OIS but stress on EIS/ AI.

Still remember when Panasonic put a 1/1.63 inch sensor in LX3, but only output 10MP image (and later 1/1.7 inch sensor in LX7)? It killed all the small 1/2.3 inch sensor compact cameras in the market. I really feel that the history has repeated itself in mobile phone camera. I guess big sensor in phone camera will be the new trend.
