The P20 Pro's camera looks unnatural (colours), over processed, oversharpened vs Pixel 2. Can u guess which is which???

The A7 III + 35mm is a better photo combo for those who want Image Quality
i realize i use phone mostly for calls, whatsapp, check email and camera
not worth paying RM 3,000 for it, rather go dedicated system +cheap phone (also phone with good camera price not going down anytime soon)

Is that your first camera? Usually photography enthusiasts wouldn't use phones as their main camera. But the best camera is still the one with you, so sometimes you'd have to make do with your phone.

You could also opt for the One Plus phones or Google Pixel. Blazing fast but much more expensive than the Xiaomi. The Pixel IMHO has a better camera than the P20 Pro in terms of processing of the colours and how natural it looks. The P20 Pro is over processed like the Samsungs.

Not my first camera but I changed to Phone systems (Sony Z1) after the weight of the DSLR + lens were too much. Mirrorless then wasn't very promising. Just got my hands on friend's mirrorless last few days and boy...damn. How dedicated systems have changed all these while being absent from the game. 693 focus points? My time got 11 only  biggrin.gif

To be honest the P20 is quite capable but got to manage the expectations lor

The A7 Mark III + G lenses is a heavy and big setup but not as heavy as a DSLR setup la.

Even the Sony A6000 with some nice lenses is heavy and big for me. I then opted for a slim Fujifilm X70 with APS-C Sensor and it has a selfie camera too tongue.gif

Reinforced my thoughts, the P20 Pro isn't as good as the Pixel 2 (except in low light) because the processing is way too aggressive like the Samsung phones.

Pixel 2 is still the benchmark for mobile phone photography. Period.
