can la.. just try dont charge the phone overnight lo.. Huawei P20 doesnt auto cut the charging after full 100%.. i used to my previous sony phone by using powerbank to charge it overnight.. cause Sony phone will auto cut the current input & powerbank will off automatically after phone reached 100% for some duration..

but P20 seems couldnt do that, i've tested few nights ady and i found my powerbank still on and charging the phone.. probably no protection between the phone with my powerbank.. not sure how is it if use Huawei powerbank.

so my next plan is use huawei fast charger to full charge the phone before i go sleep.

while people said huawei is the best smartphone currently, i do not agree so even im p20 user.. to be honest, huawei did catch up very fast and gain a lot of attentions among tech reviewers.. from paper wise, it is really one of the top flagships.. but doesnt mean it have all good only..

from camera aspect, it do have many options and got unique leica output and able to deliver quite superior photos.. video wise, the details & quality are not really on par to branded like Apple, Samsung or Sony..

from software wise, not sure about software updates in future.. but indeed got little bugs which may affect some users..

to me, got little regret for bought p20 due to my personal mistakes.. thought got infrared sensor (remote control), stereo speaker.. camera output is great but not natural colour output (Mastered AI), not support power charging auto cutoff. selfie camera always too soft..

but i also appreciate and like on some features like great & support various user options in system, good fingerprint, fast charging, great camera output which quite details..

conclusion, every phone from each manufacturers have pros& cons.. if u are person who looking for overall great camera with quite good of hardware, this may great phone for u.. but if you looking for ultimate good, i also dont know which to recommend.. but definitely is one of flagship on market..

To be fair, i kinda likes how huawei emui than samsung experience

1. There are no way to tell what is ur dl speed in samsung experience, where emui can toogle on(i dont like third party apps, drain batteries)
2. Emui screenshot is much easy than Samsung palm swipe
3.the samsung ui feel heavy, especially when u just exit an apps, where emui just feel instantly
4.samsung experience put too much unwanted things, like eye to scroll still got in 2018,hardly anyone use it
5. And emui private space is soooo under rated, it can create virtually 2nd hp using specific fingerprints, says my right pinky finger can create a new hp, so can hide boobs pic, other fb account, tinder from gf, they wont notice at all

p20p is the best android phone on the planet now.

certainly, it is not perfect; but in crucial matters like speed, camera, screen and price; huawei smacks down samseng in so many ways.

most huawei features are sensible like 3-cameras that improves photos a lot, compared to the silly dua-aperture. also, no dumb curved screens that distorts photos and videos.

I think he is not wrong making that comment. Every note series have been beating every phone because its the only one of a kind s-pen and all rounder phone

P20 pro is a hype in camera performance triple leica lens with their 40MP marketing figure. For price p20 pro RM3299 with qoo10 voucher its only RM2800 is indeed a worthy phone.

The A7 III + 35mm is a better photo combo for those who want Image Quality
i realize i use phone mostly for calls, whatsapp, check email and camera
not worth paying RM 3,000 for it, rather go dedicated system +cheap phone (also phone with good camera price not going down anytime soon)

P20 user here, previous phone is iPon 5S.

The sudden change of OS at first is quite hard for me. I already used to swiping from left edge of the screen in WhatsApp to go to previous screen after chatting. But in Android (or maybe just Huawei EMUI) I need to press the Back arrow button  This may affect some user depends on their behavior of using a smartphone.

Camera wise, very good already, using Smart AI all the time since I am not pro photographer. Night mode is good, sunrise / sunset view is awesome, portrait mode got those auto beautifying effect which can be turned off. Can also shoot widescreen shot at 8M 18:9 ratio. Default is 4:3.

So far the only issue I encountered: Sometimes when I turn on Bluetooth from the "swipe-from-top" menu, the phone will crash and restart. Kena 2 times already since buying for 1 month.

Other than that, everything is quite awesome once you have familiarize yourself with the phone. 

You’re considering only the regular P20 for your wife, and not the P20 Pro?

Yeah, the S8 was the "wow" phone from Samsung, the Note 8 and S9 subsequently were just "meh". I tried all three and the battery life was still the biggest letdown.
1% overnight is really, really good! The only way I can achieve that is to switch off everything - data, WiFi, and turn on max power savings, haha. That also Confirm 2% drop if it is a Samsung.

Either your shutter speed too slow or you got shaky hands. Nothing to do with megapixels. Share some samples here and we can take a look.
