Usually hear these 2
1) epilim
2) lithium (as in lithium battery)

I meet one guy taking them, can dress & walk normally, talk clearly, now in uni studiying, but can see on his face like really drugged up, very rigid like mask, almost no expression. Emotionally he is still hancur ...

The meds are not perfect, and take time. When I met him he already on medication for months, but still more like 'under control' than healed.

Not all bad. It was not the end for him. His life still goes on, slowly. Still got hope.

Bro, when I read your post you sound like very nervous, can to share what happened so far?
And don't even try to find the obat yourself man! These are ubat terkawal, if buy online maybe fake, dangerous!

As for that guy, I think he said something like someone he very close to die when he was young, but personally I don't think so simple... Maybe got many many other problem already, then when this happen, boom!

When he was on marijuana, I don't think you can see the difference. He was quite "normal" la. But when it got worse, he sekejap so happy. Want do this, do that. Talk like mumbling. Then out of a sudden, start crying la. Say want die la. Become like orang gila you know? That time few of the gang scared to befriend him already. Siao liao.

You brought up something important here.

1) Mental problem + dadah = more problem, actually dadah & too much alcohol can result in mental health problem also. Go see any psychiatry unit in gov hospital, sure got provide methadone one....

2) Mania & hallucination ARE the definition of gila (发癫) in our society, so not easy for the patient. The guy I met say he feel very bad for what he did when he mania, cause problem & malu for others.... then he cried on the spot sad.gif

On treatment,

Agreed with you guys. Sayangnya saintis2 skarang baru-baru start faham macamana penyakit mental ni terjadi, so setakat ni takda lagi ubat yg boleh 'mengubat' penyakit mental.

So if read at wikipedia for example, biasanya diaorang cakap "management", bukan "treatment".

So setakat ni kalau nak recomend doktor, pun rasanya tak banyak beza. Ubat dia pun lebih kurang saja, active substance dia balik balik sama saja. For reference, sy ambik ubat utk anxiety & depression, ubat made in India & made in China, bukan US,Europe, ok jugak.

Skill dr pun, well, penyakit ni bukan boleh buat operation kan?

Saya punya recomendation:

1) Cari hospital terdekat. Kalau ada apa2 emergency, eg. perlakuan berbahaya time mania, senang sikit. Skarang ni banyak hospital gov dah ada unit psikiatri & unit psikologi sendiri, tak mcm dulu kena hantar straight ke tj rambutan & kena tahan kat sana ....

2) Dr pulak, bagi saya paling penting dr yg sabar & memahami, sudi dengar perasaan pesakit, keluarga pesakit... Kalau jumpa yg malas nak dengar, asyik tambah ubat je, tukar dr.

Dont worry too much, now mental healthcare in Malaysia is getting better. Lucky I got sick only last few years, if 10 years ago maybe I jump already tongue.gif
