Hi,
What is the RAM configuration on the GM501, 1x16GB or 2x9GB? Also, what is the WiFi card? I’m hoping it’s the Intel 9560 |

Thanks Shiro for arranging my unit! Performs beautifully. Extremely helpful seller. Essential when securing a hard-to-get item!

For those who are interested, The Zephyrus M comes with an empty RAM slot and a single 16Gb RAM SO DIMM in the other slot.

QUOTE(MacDaNife @ May 26 2018, 08:41 AM) I'd like to run Dual Channel RAM so am looking for a matching stick. Nice laptop! I'm scouting for this also - but I'm going to wait till GST 0-rated to see how things shake out. I'm hoping there's stock - so I'll leave that up to luck.If anyone knows were I can get this locally I'd be much obliged.... SK Hynix 16GB DDR4 Laptop RAM PC4-2666V 2666MHz SoDimm HMA82GS6CJR8N Coming from a desktop user - you don't need the exact same RAM to enable dual-channel. As long as the RAMs match capacity/speed/latency - it should work. Based on the part number - I dug out the spec sheet of the ram: SK_Hynix_DDR4-2666_VK_spec It is a 1.2V, DDR4-2666, with timing 19-19-19. Look for RAMs with those voltage, speed, timing and you'll be fine. One example is this one from Crucial: Crucial SO-DIMM That Crucial website is damn nice - it actuallys lets you search for RAM by laptop model - so you can find all sorts of RAM that works with the GM501. I wouldn't go for the high-performance Ballistix Sport range, unless you wanna replace both sticks. Their timing is much better 16-16-16 - but you'll need 2 sticks - and a damn lot of money. |

Okay...after digging through websites for Crucial/Corsair/Patriot/Kingston/G.Skill - I think I know why you can't directly find the SK Hynix brand RAM - that's because they are the memory supplier but they supply to Corsair/Patriot/Kingston/G.Skill to be repackaged as OEMs.
I browsed through Lazada/Shopee to see prices of these RAMs - some Kingston HyperX Impact modules are selling RM775 only - which is really nice coz they come with heat sinks some more. Some bare (no-heatsink) budget sticks are much more expensive |

This thing is so very low on stock and very high in demand - so every unit that arrives in this country is sold.
No way we’re getting a demo unit. I’m at least glad they’re brought into Malaysia. Other companies like Gigabyte and Razer don’t even bother with the Malaysian market |

Ordered the identical RAM off eBay. Looked for similarly spec-ed SODIMMs off Lazada but oddly, they were more expensive. Only thing is, it's presently a holiday in the US (Memorial Day) so it will only ship tomorrow..... but no real hurry...

Wow, I didn’t expect eBay would be cheaper with shipping included - but that’s a great find! I’ll need to check this out too |
