After 2.5 years and 12k trips later, these are the most memorable:
1. Picked up 4 ladies, all airport taxi drivers from HK. became their tour guide for 1 day and they also requested to send to airport. Even though just as taxi drivers, they stayed in one of the best condo in KL. of cos they left a good tip and invited to show me around HK. 2. picked up this girl from KL to rush back to her house in pj, where the neighbor's house was on fire. All along the way she was instructing her family to save her handbags! Dunno what happened cos the road was closed for the fire engine 3. Picked up this blind lady and was totally surprised that she can be so mobile even though blind. Of cos she explained the method of doing so just with a smartphone. Since it was a card payment, I wrote to Uber to waive all charges of which they obliged. 4. Highest fare was 3.1x surge to klia fetching a mas stewardess. Plenty more good memories driving Uber |

QUOTE(ys2233 @ Apr 6 2018, 07:41 PM) After 2.5 years and 12k trips later, these are the most memorable: i picked up the same blind rider twice. first time from KL Sentral to Old Klang Road and second time from OKR to Subang. Had really nice conversation with him bcos we both speak same dialect and he remembers me from earlier trip which was months ago. Reach destination, i actually got down from the car and help him to the destination which was a cafe.1. Plenty more good memories driving Uber another time i had a 'kinda' mute rider. he was able to mumble but unable to speak clear words/sentences. we communicate thru typing in the car. i refused to collect fare from him at the end. it wasn't much (RM3-4 i think) but it felt good. QUOTE(birdman8 @ Apr 6 2018, 07:53 PM) yes, of course i did...toll was RM16 iirc |

Anyone have similar experience:-
I pick up a rider from Damansara to Salak Tinggi via grab car app. Reach there no pings so I on Uber app as well which also no pings. So I decided to move to Klia empty car since it is no far away. Waited three hours in airport, Uber ping came in first and I accept and pick up. Guess what? The rider destination is youniQ hotel located in salak tinggi. It seems to me the app has the memory and assume the driver is happy to go back to their previous detected location. |
