Just got a quote from.tyre shop
XM2 Rm222 haven't include 6% GST.
PS3 Rm234 haven't include 6% GST.

That guy recommended change 2 tyre Instead of 1 and change the size from 185/55/15 to 195/55/15. He said 185 hard to find wan. Is it ok? 2 new tyre put at rear. Tyre is relatively new. Feel wasted for the other front tyre that did not have bulge.
*
Yeah I changed mine to 195/55 first week owning my car. More pros than cons.
You can look for TyreExpert in Lazada. Good price and service

Anyone has the problem where the fuel is suddenly cut while driving?

I've encountered few times where I've got to release the fuel pedal and press it again then only the power will come.
I remember someone here had this problem too, can i know how do you solve this ?

By the way has anyone tried philips whitevision or x-treme vision? Heard that they are good, not considering night breaker laser is because the life span too short for me lol
*
Using X treme Vision for a year now, the brightness is better than the stock bulb, the light can shoot further on the ground, the colour is whiter compared to dim yellow on stock bulb.

I see, I'm considering white vision, heard that the brightness is good enough and whiter, it also has lifespan up to 2 years blink.gif
*
I was afraid white halogen bulb will affect clarity during rain at night. Hence I go for Xtreme Vision. I don't really care the colour, but the brightness is priority

QUOTE(Christy8012 @ Dec 11 2018, 07:07 AM)
How about driving during rain at night? Is the light bright enuf?
*
Yes, very good to me. I think an important part not to be neglected when driving at rain is the clarity of windscreen.

Because xtreme vision 3500K vs white vision 3700k, optimum temperature would be 4300k for all condition which WV is closer to, and WV brightness is enough for me with longer lifespan. Some ppl use XW as high beam for better light penetration. So for me I'll pick WV, maybe in future will try XV too hehe
*
Yeah, good for you to have it decided.

QUOTE(Christy8012 @ Dec 11 2018, 08:56 PM)
I agree windscreen clarity is important as well. So you changed both high beam & low beam? Is your auto light leveling working as normal after you changed the bulbs?
*
Only low beam, because I think it's not worth to change the high beam. Very rarely I'll switch on the high beam.
You mean the manual leveling? Yeah still function

Guys , ive encounter a weird situation with my car, when i step on the gas pedal, it moves a bit, but as the pedal steped deeper, the car macam engaged into a neutral gear, then i need to release the pedal and step on it again, and the cycle repeats until i reach higher speed eg 90kmph , then it backs to normal again. any idea ? lol
*
I have had the same problem as yours last time. I think so far have three members encounter this problem.
First I went to Proton Mutiara Damansara, thought they big shop can solve it. They said problem solved by reflashing ECU but they're just bs.
Then, I went to Senaxis to give it a fix because they have good reputation in solving some uncommon problem. They changed a shaft at the fuel pedal, but I've forgotten the part name, sth to do with the word shaft. It's under warranty.
Senaxis told me one of their customers have this problem too, trial and error many times only find out this solution. They cannot detect any errors in the ECU.
So far after two months changing the shaft, everything is fine now.

Does anyone with Persona Premium changed their Head Unit?
If yes,
1. Will it affect the front & back sensor function?
2. Do u need to cut any wiring or just plug & play?
3. Any other affected areas/function like the extended USB/AUX etc etc?

Planning to changed the HU because the bluetooth function sux, canot tahan lol.
*
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...&#entry85476479

No, sensor didnt affect, but reverse camera affected.
The reverse camera image show in HU looks like 90s television. Not sure why, but i didnt care much, as long as it shows image.

I think mine involving cutting wire.
Be careful with this part, some accessory guys has less knowledge and simply cut and connect the wire and cause harm to your car or even you.
For warranty part, I think my HU warranty voided. Anyway, if I am not mistaken, the warranty for HU is only one year.

Yes. The original USB and AUX port in front of gear lever cannot be used anymore.
But my HU do comes with simcard/microSD port(not sure which), and two USB ports.

Oh... New facelift, Executive have rear cam...

Premium:
6 air bag
Leather streering
Voice command (gimmick)
4G & WiFi (Do you really need?)
*
Why Wifi and 4G is a must in our smartphone but not in car head unit?
I always connect my HU to phone hotspot for Spotify usage.
Sound quality for Bluetooth connect drops drastically.

I'm owning the Persona CVT since Sep 2016. The car doesn't give me any problem beside the first batch laggy head unit and factory fitted tyres.
Besides, the 2014 first launched Iriz is using the same engine and CVT as my persona. After 5 years, the Iriz is still doing well.
The only weakness of the clutch based CVT is the rubberband effect. Other than that, I don't see reliability issue with the Punch CVT.
Mind to share why you have doubt in reliability of the CVT?

I'm worried about this Honda city Idsi first model which having CVT transmission at that year 2004 ... 👇

This conversation during year 2009...
So my concern is ,, if anything happens to the CVT transmission drivetrain .. how much will cost me to replace the CVT transmission ... ?
Anyone did ask before with the Proton service centre about the price for that CVT transmission drivetrain ?
*
I see where your worry come from, but I think it's not a fair comparison tho.
Different brand, different era also. You cannot compare the phone 10 years ago to today's phone right?
Just do regular maintenance like changing CVT oil and take care of the gearbox. It probably will not give you any problem for 5 years unless you get lemon unit.
For the price of the gearbox, I have no idea. You can message Proton FB and ask them or email to them.

Hello all,
Persona vvt 2016 48,000km no issues, suddenly got two (unrelated) problems  cry.gif :
1. Experiencing random no-response from throttle input for the past 2 weeks. Normally happen when driving from fast to slowing down (eg traffic light, or cornering, or uphill), ease-off go throttle to slow down, then when press throttle again to move, no response (RPM slowly go down to 1k, eco light come on). If i let go my foot & press again it resumes. Today the engine light came on.
2. Last week changed first pair of tyres, noticed rust on hubs on all sides plus on nuts. Anyone know if can claim warranty on these?

I think above issues unrelated because the throttle issue started to occur even before i changed tyres, only got worse in time.
Going to SC COSE this week for both issues, need to find replacement car first  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif

There are quite a number of people encountered the first problem. For my car, it was solved by changing the bolt shaft kit. Some were solved by changing the brake switch.

I'm using Viofo A129 Duo, best bang for buck for dashcam that uses capacitor instead of battery.
Can head to Dashcam thread in F&F if you're wondering difference between battery and capacitor dashcam

Is my CVT failing?

My car is bought in 2017, mileage is now 59K. My car would lose power suddenly after acceleration and to save it I had to release pedal and press again to save my life.

Anyone face the same issue?
*
Change bolt shaft kit, brake switch, r&i pedal arm brake (dk what is this, it is written in my receipt)
Most common problem in Persona 2016 and 2017.
