ok watching them made sense.
cannot pre rev took away advantages from torque converter and turbo spooling. that's "easy" to  guess.

the 2nd video, eh no solid numbers, only a "scoring" and some oddly placed cameras, and just bracket style comparison. (only 2 cars at a go)
cone. on.

where's the myvi even if we're not even bothered for a  proper drag race  rolleyes.gif

now that myvi has entered the discussion.

pandu laju: myvi won
autobuzz: iriz won 2x

so once again we are getting conflicting results. haha

Takpe, janji Proton's MT best.. their 1-4th gear ratio are shorter compared to rivals.. oh wait! MT no more  cry.gif

yea. put a smile to my face everytime i drive that car. it just feels so good to drive that car in MT.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Oct 18 2022, 02:22 PM)
well... both Myvi are different
and... LOL people thinking the shit 4AT is fast. and your video proven the CVT is faster.

that said, yes Iriz advantage with just a normal launch so Myvi couldn't utilize the torque converter advantage.
on pandulaju video, the more efficient CVT masked that weakness and ultimately won.

it's interesting on autobuzz video both vehicles having the same EXACT tires (which i have shared on my persona test drive experience before in this forum) and it would be awesome if they performed a braking test right after the drag is done biggrin.gif (we know who's the EZ winner here)
*
ops, i didn't realize they were 2 different generations of myvi.. sorry for the mistake, but is good also, at least it points out your point, CVT>4AT in terms of efficiency
sadly, i'm not team CVT either. i understand they have better FC and better acceleration, but the feeling of driving a CVT is so dead. to be fair, even the 4AT feels relative dead to me (i prefer the engagement of the MT) but the CVT takes it up 1 notch higher.
also i can't help but have a feeling behind my head, that says, CVT would not last longer than a 4AT if driving spiritedly, because imo gears always better than belt in terms of handling stress.

should be the iriz's win right? in terms of braking test. i have no idea how myvi won that one either.

2019 years Persona 41000km, just did the 60,000km car services, change the Transmission Oil then come out the problem. keep having a sound "kakakak" while driving around 10 - 50kmph. The sad thing is to need to wait for 2 weeks to drop the car, and no car to use for the following week...
Send to outside car workshop, they said sound is from the gearbox..

2019 still got warranty right? can try to ask SC whether can claim warranty for GB?

HI, anyone having issue with the coolant?

Mine one just only 5 years car and 38k mileage, send to service center to service,
they told me that the coolant already rusty and recommend to replace full set of the cooling system.
I understand that if we top up using tap water, it might causes the rust, but its only 38k mileage car and the rust looks like 10 years car top up with tap water only confused.gif  confused.gif
However they cant really told me that whats the reason of this.
I did expect there will be some rust in it but never imagine it will be so bad,
did run through some forum they say its due to proton coolant issue.

Just wondering anyone face this before?
*
my car 4.5 y/o. so far so good. recently checked, still look pristine.

i think those that had rust, is mainly due to tap water. should be common knowledge, yet it's not that common actually.
i tried to buy distilled water from petrol station, they ask me just add normal water can d, they dun sell distilled water.
a lot of workshop also just top up normal water only. how can don't rust if everyone do things like this?

fyi, distilled water is also good for equipments that use water (like clothes steaming machine/steam floor cleaner, because it does not have hard water properties like tap water, which will cause the formation of white residues (limescale)
but it's not that easily available. i wanna buy 5L but not always got. got small bottles le, but expensive if i buy 10x 500ml.

edit: side track a bit, i feel my engine mounting going to gg soon. on neutral, the steering vibration seems to be getting more apparent esp when the compressor kicks in.
you all changed your engine mounts roughly at what age/km?
my car currently 4.5y/o with almost 75k km clocked.

I expected the FC to be bad, just thought might be a little better than my 18 year old car. I guess I just have to live with it.

For the QD link, I am aware that it is screen mirroring. Running the apps on the phone does not cause it to heat up, just when QD link I'd running. Even when I disconnected, it is slightly warm.

the car you drove last time too good d.

i used to drive saga BLM auto 1.3
that car FC rolleyes.gif

my persona with spirited drive and jam also better than it.
even camry / accord have better FC than that saga.. hence.. any car is an upgrade for FC to me. thumbup.gif

if your model is 2019 and older, there is a knob at the right side of the steering wheel (near the door) that you can set, default setting 0 can be a little too high for some ppl, so you can use +2 or something. in familiar roads, i put +4, only in dark and unfamiliar roads i will set it back to +2/0

if your model is after 2020, then this knob has been removed, you will need to pop open your bonnet, locate a screw at the headlamps, turn the screw to adjust up and down or left and right. park your car facing a wall, then adjust using the wall as reference, the left lamp will always be higher than the right lamp by a bit. it's normal.

my best record Mac 2023

FC for highway 16.29km/L or 6.13L/100km average speed 90km/h, turn off ESC, RM50 for 391km. tyre size 205-50-16 pump 240kpa

each bar can go 40km (city) to 120km (highway)

maintain top speed 180km/h for more than 25km follow porsche carrera, FC drop drastically

proton claim FC 6.1L/100km

I drove from Kota Damansara to sg besar and back for wedding dinner using trunk road. Slight jam but only manage to achieve 11km/L. Manual variant BTW. 256km /RM 47 ~= 23L

I think my best really just slightly below 15km/L. I'm not good enough at cruising I guess.

Anyone's Persona is having a weird long cranking issue? Seems to happen randomly to my car.
*
Difficult to crank from day 1. At first thought battery getting weak, but no. I can struggle to crank for months or even more than a year, after it says low batt. So i just keep driving until i cannot start it anymore or when it reaches 2.5 years and i suddenly dun wish to get stranded at unknown area, so i drove to varta and trade in for a new batt

Should've replaced the battery under warranty

I mean every battery i used also struggled to crank. But it will still start itself for more than 2 years. I had always thought it was a persona circuitry issue

My position lights (the small one) on one side kong already, not even a year. Was looking through the manual and it actually mislabelled it as low beam in one section and postion lights in one section.

Anyways, the manual says it should be 5W bulb. Should I replace it with the stock specification or should I consider changing/upgrading? I probably am just going to go lazada or something and buy from there. Better to change both/as a set right?

On another note, my 1st year service is coming soon. Should I look into anything specficially. I notice a lot of mention of radiator issues here regarding the original coolant. Should I ask them to check and see, just in case. I have no issues so far. Plus I am due for balancing and allignment, not sure if I should just do it somewhere here first or do it at the service centre.

Thanks for any input.

Use back same specifications unless you have plans to fully mod your headlamps (like changing to osram or diff temperature lighting)

Can get from anywhere, my headlamp was replaced using mr diy bulb. Forgot how much was it, but it was cheap and been using for more than 3 years (my car age is 5 yr +). Most importantly, don't touch the bulb with your bare fingers, the oil from your fingers will cause the bulb to burn. Improper installation will shorten your bulb lifespan more than 3rd party brand would.

Jz dun add pipe water or mineral water into your radiator and make sure your service center don't do that too. My car 5yr+ no sign of rust. Only add premix coolant, or mix your own coolant, or if emergency, add distilled water only.

Do rotation, alignment and balancing outside. No need do at service center. It is good and will ensure your ride always stay balance (since the wear on tires will be even)
