Got my 100mbps installed on Monday 16/4/18.

So I tried to dl ubuntu torrent from their official page to try out torrenting, since it was recommended on reddit to see if I am getting what I paid for.
...

Anyone getting these sort of speeds?
...
*
I test with Linux distros also, usually Centos. A single well seeded torrent should be able to max out 100mbps.

Centos ISO, no VPN, UniFi100. It took 30 secs to ramp up to full speed. Router: Mikrotik RG750Gr3.

For anyone wondering, tm replied to someone regarding the issue:

Not sure it if they know what's wrong and are currently fixing it or just giving lip service.

Mine too. In fact I got a huge discount recently so it's even better but it's a far cry from a real broadband service in terms of speed, price and reliability from other countries. Not like I can blame you or anyone else since they wouldn't know what cheap and fast internet is like since you can't get it here and I doubt most people can live abroad and experience it first hand.

But seeing as old problems (ip ranges with routing and speed issues) and solutions (changing ip that's not affected) is still relevant today (2018) then I guess we haven't improved much from the dinosaur streamyx age huh.
*
damn what discount?
others country have their problem too if you check their forum.
the problem is people don't understand internet work both way, not just the local isp need to be good, the hosting side also need to be good

Special discount la, you gotta hustle TM to get it. This is a ghetto country, can't get anything for free, have to fight for it lol. I was paying RM249 (RM263.94) for 50Mbps but now I'm paying about RM70++ less (don't want to be too specific).

Oh well not that it matters since next year it's going to get cheaper and I gotta hustle TM some more to get it reduced.

Really..? Is it just because you guys are not in the affected ip address or it's really fixed. I guess I gotta go back home and check.

It's missing because TM and their infinite wisdom decided to block trace route from their customer. Jeez, I wonder why? Is it to hide their incompetent when user decides to self troubleshoot? Nah...

Seems like same ip range has different routing but who cares, not like you can pick and choose the good from the bad ones.
I wish. 2018 and we're still taking about ip range with good or bad routing, like the old streamyx days. What a sad country with sad "broadband", new shiny technology (fiber) from old copper cable but quality is still the same, junk.
*
Really? Normally they don't block. At least not for the IP I'm usually assigned with. The 42.153..x.x ones are from Webe. Different autonomous system.

Anyways, if you ask me, it's not Russia. More like a problem at (former)Webe's routers. TM ranges are ok for me.

124.82.90.221 to twitter, seems ok too.

i pay only 187++ but forgot what speed, i think 50 also how to check?
no la ip address not like last time anymore, tested at my 7++ customer last time, not much different in term of speed but ping, but ping is easily affected by the distant to the nearest exchange.

i thought they only block the one from Windows? I'm not sure about Linux/mac
anyway if your router support it then can trace in router, work pretty well
*
Yeah, same here, using Mac, I don't see it blocked. Windows shouldn't be either. Doesn't matter what OS you use. Not sure where the other guy got his experience from.

hmm...my experience with unifi is quite good

Can't complain. Free upgrade 30-50 then +RM10 to 100mbps last year. Only thing is I didn't receive the RM10 SMS, found about it here luckily.

I see, Windows dunnolah, later fire up my Toshiba laptop, if it still works, to try.

My progression is like this:

RM189 100mbps <--RM10 upgrade--- RM179 50mbps <--tq surprise--- RM179 30mbps

Same for many others here including a select few at RM179 for 100mbps.

Yo I get what you mean dude, from your posts on this thread, but I do see results on the same router on my friend's Time 300mbps in his apartment upwards of 10Mb/s though.
So I am like what is happening rn, is it a router issue or a ISP issue?? thought I might find out with users around here, am I the only one having this problem.
But yea, definitely will consider your suggestions man. Thanks
Right, so I guess I might have to observe for a few more days.  sad.gif

if yr tplink is working normal, it can give u full or >100mbps, 12-13MBps torr speed - but only with ethernet.

on wifi, u must check yr devices... if they are running on 2.4 or 5ghz.

2.4... u will get 50-70 max.

5ghz, u get 105.

not all devices hv dual band... pc/laptops typically not... u need to buy/use a dual band adaptor.
