Maybe cicak-cicak or cockroach bites the cable and let it exposed to air? laugh.gif

Try to turn off your vdsl modem, reconnect that telephone connectors etc.... then turn on the vdsl modem and see if it makes any difference.

Eh, no lah. This is ahead of schedule. Previously they say "Starting Aug 15, the broadband speed for existing Unifi Home customers will be upgraded in phases by up to 10x at no extra cost to the users by Telekom Malaysia Bhd".
https://www.thestar.com.my/tech/tech-news/2...eed-to-800mbps/

Now it's starting July 18. Early by almost a month.

Originally, 15th July = we should fill or agree with consent form.

Now delayed to 18th July. sad.gif

What!?? Where did you pull that out from?

Sorry, I mean source, source for that tantalising tidbit of glorious info.

Technically, he isn't wrong.

Reviewers tend to forgot benchmark NAT table overhead.
WAN <---> LAN (with NAT acceleration on and off)

I can see some users use Iperf to measure LAN to LAN, WIFI to Wifi via router and LAN to Wifi, but no one measure WAN to LAN.

IPv6 = direct, no NAT = turbo all the way.
IPv4 = NAT table processing, which is why there are* NAT Boost, Nat Acceleration etc.

edit: I mean...didn't you guys read this yesterday? https://www.duckware.com/tech/router-wan-to...ghput-test.html

Inside Dlink website already wrote N supported 300Mbps and AC supported 867Mbps due to 2x2 antenna
[attachmentid=9915816]
Inside portal 2.4Ghz only got B/G/N, while 5Ghz got A/AC

As you said, technically he's right, agreed. NAT is overhead. But 25% overhead? Must be a slow processor on that router.
silentvampire finally a reason for you to advocate IPv6. Speed. smile.gif

jio did some artificial WAN to LAN here for the Mikrotik RB951 to measure its performance. This was back in 2016. Had no idea how he did it at that time.
https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=79277123

Agree with you that WAN-LAN is important.
Rarely but yes.
*
O.o.....880Mbps DL/UL with NAT acceleration* vs 285Mbps DL / 270Mbps UL ....the difference is stark.

Other websites such as soyacincau and amanz still report unifi Basic only. laugh.gif

Misleading lor....C1200v1, DIR-850L, DIR-842 and technically, all the router listed at his 100Mbps section can handle up to 500Mbps just fine.

Good informative article, bro.

But I must protest, no Mikrotik routers?  smile.gif

And also what johnlai said above. If stock routers cannot handle 800Mbps on LAN then TM has to replace them and I'm sure they want to avoid that.
*
Over wired, C1200 sure can handle 800Mbps. Same with Tenda AC9 and ASUS RT-AC58U.

Example: This reviewer has 1Gigabit DL and 500Mbps upload. https://www.digitalcitizen.life/review-tp-link-archer-c1200?page=1

Using WAN to LAN:

Nice article!

After reading your article, now I baru tau that my old Innatech router that provided by TM, which I already ditched few years ago, is actually a Gigabit router?

I gonna wake you up from the dream. console.gif

No. Innatech doesn't produce VDSL router. That Innatech = streamyx adsl.

I assume you mean RG4332? blink.gif
