Just called 100 to request my Unifi password and they inform me they only can generate the new password within 24 hours and send via SMS.

Is that any method I can retrieve my current password from modem configuration page? Currently using the TM provided AC1200.

I just need the password just in case I want to reflash the router.

Thanks.

Guys, i've been quoted RM 6 per meter for new fiber cable for my unifi. From the outside unit to FTB. Extra rm4 per meter if the fiber wanted to be cover up.

So is RM10 per meter with cover. And 1 month warranty provided for the new cables...

Just wanna ask is this price quoted reasonable?

Is there other option such as using own contractor to do the cables?

Nice! RB3011! notworthy.gif

I think cannot because the VLAN config in the DIR-850L is not very flexible. But admittedly I haven’t really looked into it. At one time I was exploring the same thing with the DIR-615 so that it can be turned into a cheap/free vlan switch. Again I got sidetracked here and didnt come to any conclusion.

Currently I’m using another Mikrotik for something similar to what you want to do. Router upstairs, vlan trunk internet and HyppTV to downstairs. Another Mikrotik downstairs to untag the vlans.

Yep, exactly like that. No problem. Just have to set the cable that goes from the RB3011 to the RB750 as a trunk for VLAN600 and your LAN traffic. Mine, for example, it's a trunk for 600 and 50, where VLAN50 is my LAN traffic. I think you can also leave LAN traffic untagged but not sure. I have mine tagged cause I have other VLANs such as VLAN56 which is an IPv6 only LAN.

Which router did you get? It’s either the C1200 or the DIR850L, both which are very basic. If you want something better, you have to invest in your own router. I suggest the Asus RT-AC1300UHP, or the TP-Link C3150 v2, if you have the budget.

Any router should be located at upstairs. Not downstairs. If you place your router at downstairs, don't expect much wireless signal strength at upstairs. All the wireless wave from the router's antenna moves (flows) downwards and not upwards. For best wireless experience, locate the router at upstairs. Perhaps, the wireless from c1200 or dir850 can be improved. However, that c1200 kenot be saved anymore. So as SilentVampire bro said, invest in a better router such as asus ac58u. ac1200G or ac1300uhp.
