My friend received the call from TM too, but he got bad news, TM told him his "Turbo upgrade" has been cancelled.

I've been subscribed since May of 2012, currently on 30 Advance, any idea if they would upgrade me or they would use the DIR-615 as benchmark and not upgrade me? Technically DIR-615 can support 300 what 

I subscribed to the 100 mbps Pro plan in 2016 and received a boxy light grey ONU and router that looks almost the same as the ONU. Anybody knows if they have to replace my ONU for the turbo upgrade? I've already upgraded to ASUS AC68U as my primary router.

Also, my contract is over already. I wonder if it would affect my upgrade process..

Yass. How do we know when are they going to upgrade tho? I just upgrade from 10 to 30. So will i get 100 or 300?

Most FTTH areas support gigabyte internet. Only SUBBS areas where FTTH technology is utilised will get 100Mbps maximum.

OMG... Some of you guys need to take a chill pill.. Relax a bit.. Some of us didn't get anything the past 2 free speed upgrades.. For this latest one, many more will still be passed over. Again!! So I advise, relax and if in 6 months you aren't upgraded for free, in line with the announcement.. Then find out why with TM, check your neighbors and react accordingly.. All these foaming at the mouth can't change anything just yet.. 

Depends on the exchange but for example in TTDI, IIRC it was between 700-1000+ customers/OLT. Wasn't that big of an issue back in the 5/10/20Mbps days as 90% of users were on the 5Mbps package This isn't even including IPTV multicast (HyppTV + Maxis) and voice traffic which requires dedicated bandwidth allocation. I haven't set foot in a TM exchange for the past 4 years so hopefully they've done some upgrades since then.

I do believe overall network capacity issues are a major issue with this upgrade as the actual upgrade procedure only requires reconfiguration of the customer VLAN profiles in the OLTs as well as modification of the RADIUS profiles for the PPPoE speed limits. To give you an idea of how quickly this can be done, everytime you ask for a 'port reset' when on the phone with their support staff, your ONU VLAN profile is reset to the intended value along with a reboot command for your ONU. Everything is automated via TL1 commands to the respective EMS.
