My best frend's rig. After sticking to his old humble rig for almost 4yrs, he decided its time for a major upgrade now that CPUs & Rams are cheaper.

Computer Hardwares as follow :

C2D E6600
Gigabyte 8800 Ultra ( non SLI )
Asusn P5NE-SLI ( decided to wack Ultra instead thus save on mobo .. hmm )
Kingston's DDR 2 ( 4x 1GB D9 GMH )
Silverstone Strider 750watt modular PSU
Silverstone TJ-09 chasis ( non side windows as we'll be customizing the window shape )
Asus Sata DVDRW
Hitachi 320GB Sata II Raid 0 x2
Hitachi 500GB Sata II Storage
Auzentech X-Meridien Sound card

Mod hardwares as below :

DangerDen 8800GTX Fullface waterblock
Swiftech Storm II CPU waterblock
Swiftech MCW-30 Chipset block
Swiftech MCP-655 pump
Radiator 2x 120mm
Radiator 1x 120mm
Custom made 5.25" UV Acrylic blue reservoir
Clearflex 1/2" Tubing
PC-ICE Coolant ( color not decided yet )

Other hardware mod : 7" Widescreen LCD ( non touch screen ).

Gonna integrate this small lcd screen somewhere on the chasis & run "dual display". Thus able to surf the web or game while this 2ndary lcd play ur favourite mtv or movies or monitor ur software driven temperature monitor.

Our problems :

TJ-09 isn't that big for WC seriously if we're looking to mount everything intergrated inside, which we always prefer.

The chasis only allow 1piece of 240mm Radiator on top which is not really sufficient for a E6600 @ 3.6ghz & 8800Ultra.

Therefore, we're planning to mount a 2nd single fan 120mm radiator at the exhaust area. We'll need to let the loop run with this plan & check if there's any waterflow restrictions anywhere or bubbles trap. Though its a very powerful 12volt MCP-655, we'll still need to test. Thanks to my buddy we've a good opportunity to test a dual radiator loop smile.gif

some pictures up first .. tmr will be offically working on it .. icon_rolleyes.gif

GTX waterblock on Ultra, we initially decided to go on 2x GTX but drop the idea as he will want to add another Ultra later on since we've already ordered 2x GTX waterblock.

the custom built UV reactive 5.25" water reservoir.. gonna do a nice bezel to fit this in.

res under UV. complete blue ..

4x 1GB D9 GMH, tested 4gb O/C @ 1000mhz, 4,4,4,12 flex.gif
i got rid of all the kingston & warranty stickers then gonna cool with heatspreader + ram cooler.

this picture show my personal memory. 4x 1gb D9 and 4x Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1066mhz @ CL 5. the cheap rams beat the more expensive ones hands down.

the 7" LCD mod. Gonna do it at the front, however, my frend's pc will be on the floor & he's afraid he might kick & crack the lcd someday, lol. anyway, the position infront was the initial idea. so just show lcd placement plan.

supposed to cut the front panel to fit & the lcd. and the internal area has just enough room for the lcd & the pcb controller.

Yes, those Kingston Valueram DDR2 D9GMH performs better than corsair. smile.gif

But take note that Kingston Valueram is usign Micron D9GMH chipset, the chipset that is used on almost all high performance rams. smile.gif

Aiyoyo. The mobo cannot make it lar. Gary, u better ask ur fren to take the P5N32 at least. Coz the P5NE is only 16 lanes n splits to 8x PCIe for each card in SLi. With the P5N32 the cards will get the full 16 lanes each. 8 lanes should b enuf for most rigs but definitely not for 2x8800 Ultra.

eh??? chief.... i think the reason he got that mobo was because he decided to run a single 8800 Ultra instead of SLI 8800 GTX...its in the first post....

Ya lor. He sed gonna add another 8800Ultra later. That time sure the mobo will be holding back the Ultras.

ooopss .. confusing eh. sorry guys.

we narrowed down to the value P5NE instead due to budget constraint sad.gif
initially the plan was 2x 8800gts + p5n32 sli

then change to 2x 8800gtx instead + p5n32sli

then we ordered the 2x fullface gpu block about 1mth + back only receive it on wednesday ( the day i posted )

only to realize 8800ultra just came out next day, 1after after waterblock arrive. haizz .. hard decision which path to choose, main reason being the 2x gpu block is a killer price, and by this time, budget already stretched way too far so i suggested to hang on to this setup first while keep the 2nd gpu block till further ugprade next time.

thus, settled for the value mobo & single gfx instead...

btw, the TJ-09 really not so suitable for 2x 8800 card + watercool too, it'll be difficult to orientate the tubing route, pump & reservoir placement. the main thing is, everything integrated inside, nothing outside ( except the 1x 120mm single fan rad @ exhaust. )

besides, if ur familliar with the TJ-09 PSU placement, u'll understand why 2nd vga card below ( no matter which mobo ) will most likely have difficult tubing route.

unless, we dont go 1/2" tubing, but 3/8" or smaller instead.

even with single card, the pump placement at the bottom is a problem too, considering the 8800GTX/Ultra cards are Longer than usual, reaching the mobo's end ( near the default 14cm internal TJ-09 fan ).

all in all, i'd say, casing restriction !!! I wish Silverstone will make a taller TJ-XX next time with serious watercooling design implemented.

instead of the pathetic 2holes near the PCI area. It is redundant for most setup, or for us at least...

Ya lor the TJ09 is very restrictive for WC set ups. The TJ07 is still king for WC. Can run triple loop with 3x120, 2x120 n 1x120 rads n 3 pumps all within then case. Well, let's see what Silverstone will come out with as teh next TJ is gonna sound special with the awesome name. TJ X. Woot! X for Xtreme! Hehehe.

here's the 7" LCD we mention, in any case some of u is unsure of wat we're talking about. its a real lcd that's capable of displaying ur windows desktop, movies, etc. just like ordinary monitor function. this model is connected via RCA ( s-video ). quality for desktop won't be good, but movie playback is sweet.

it require the pcb board below to function as 1pc. and 12volt powered, just need to tap the power source from psu. there's a lcd function button which i guess i'll just put it somewhere inside. since its usually used once for adjusting, colors, brightness, size. too many small buttons to mod tiny holes, i'm not that good with that.

very sexy ..

and i strip her, molest her, flood her with my ceramique compound
the mosfet chips ( correct ? ) needed thermal pad bundled from the gpu block
thermal compound required on the memory as well, as guided by DD's installation manual.
user posted image

mounted the gpu block.
user posted image

the fitting is perfect without glitch, no gaps between the memory or mosfet or gpu from the block, only the pcb slighly warp but its usually ok.
