My Celcom Wireless Broadband has no signal at all from 1:30am June 20 for about an hour. Anybody has the same problem?
*
Maintenance service conducted during this period. Anyone had received the billing statement for this month? Seems like unusual late compared with previous month?

I found 2 solutions
(1) Use VPN
(2) Specify the DNS server address (refer to the attachment)

Do tell us if it work or not. It does work for me
*
Of course can work if configured in this way. But it will affect your speed for surfing and downloading due to public server being use.

I have a very weird situation on my modem.
The modem mode light turns red yesterday till now.
So I take out the celcom sim card and put it inside my mifi.  It's working fine.
Then, I try putting my digi sim card into the modem and it's working.. All the light turn green.
After that, I put the celcom sim card back to the modem, the mode light turns red again.
Do you guys have any idea what happen to the modem?
I don't want to go to celcom center first.. I am afraid that they will sim lock my modem.

Try to do factory reset for the router. It can rectify the issue.

Yeah true so how should we overcome this without affecting the speed? But I did speed test after changing the DNS server address the speed seems to be as usual no speed drop
*
If you changed the DNS from the PC without restart to router, the speed should be the same (+/- 10% allowance). However, if you restart your router, the speed might be drop about 20 to 30% depending on the "ms" you get when perform speed test.

*
The speed is so slow until the line disconnected by itself. What happen to Celcom? mad.gif

If they don't do some serious improvement/upgrade I reckon within 2 years the line gonna get congested and slow down and even no signal would happen like most wireless broadband.
*
Hope they improve the service rendered to their customer. This situation is unaccepted at all.

The line is so unstable and out of sudden disconnected from the network. Really bad since yesterday evening. Not sure what is going on despite asking them to do reset of the network. But result still the same.

Lately the speed drop drastically from 98Mbps to 52Mbps. In few more months might be come Unifi and few more months become Streamyx
*
Your speed is still acceptable within this range. My connection speed drop from 60mbps to 7~8mbps at 9pm. Even this morning the speed is reached at 40++mbps. I had reported this issue to Celcom Customer Care and now waiting for their rectification in 3 working days.

Especially during this period of World Cup match, we can see a significant drop of network speed.

May i know what kind of coverage signal this package use? I mean from your self observation on the modem. I assume it use 4g only.
*
4G+ network if your area is near to their cell tower. Otherwise it will use standard 4G connection.

Celcom can changed their Terms and Conditions from time to time. With the 24 months contract being tied up, we can't do much within this period or else pay the penalty cost to unsubscribe it.

I found out that I have this problem only with Celcom Wireless Broadband. When I switch to Maxis, TM and UMobile I can watch Astro on the go with no problem through Chrome. Now I'm using TM to go online as I'm unable to go into internet with Celcom Wireless Broadband since yesterday even though the signal is full. Really feel being cheated and I'll be unsubscribing Celcom soon.
Anyway what do you guys think of Unifi Wireless Broadband?

Try to call customer care hotline and report this two issues.

Of course not. Below is our conversation:

Celcom: Sorry, there is no rebate can be given. You may refer to the TAC for more info. https://www.celcom.com.my/legal/terms-and-c...m-home-wireless
Me: Of course you won’t. And yeah you can change your TAC at anytime. Thanks for your reply anyway. If you can help I don’t want to waste time reading the TAC, please tell me how much is the penalty for cancelling this wireless plan now?
Celcom: You will be charged penalty of RM499.00 inclusive GST with reducing balance, which will be reflected in your final bill.
Me: Understood. Thanks

I love their professionalism!

Normal if they taken out from Video Walla for Netflix. Celcom got their right to do anything to their T&C. I subscribed to Celcom Platinum Package, so far not able to finished up the data given by them despite watching 4K or 8K videos. Of course not under Netflix or iFlix. Astro is the way to watch drama or movies.

I'm with Celcom Gold and I was told by Blue Cube that I have finished off my quota with 10 more days to go. I just watch some youtube and Astro on the go (they are suppose to be on Video Wella) also some low res movies download but I wonder can that finished up my quota so fast. Do I really need Platinum Package to be able to use TVBox? I really wonder would Platinum Package enough for TVBox. Anyway does Astro has 4K and 8K videos?
*
Celcom Gold only have 50GB data and 150GB video walla. For high volume usage, I don't think it is sufficient. Upgrade to Platinum package is way more better without interruption.

I am now trying out DiGi infinite 150 at my place for a few days. If everything goes well, bye Celcom Wireless Platinum.

Better upgraded to TM Unifi Turbo next month. Not worth to spend $$ to wireless broadband.

hmm.. my usage will mainly used for youtube and surfing + my works.. 150gb divided by 30 days = 5gb per day.. should be sufficient for my usage for interim period.. until my building have unifi services then i'll apply that one..
*
First month speed is promising. When come to subsequent months, you may realized the speed throttle down a lot. Do take note their marketing gimmicks.

if able to have fibre broadband service is the best for better & stable connection.. but somehow i believe people will go for wireless broadband are due to lack of service in the location..

example, my condo building due to newly CCC recently and still waiting to TM to connect unifi services into the building.. collecting demand from owners but somehow not everyone going to subscribe it yet..

i will prefer 10mbps averagely will do.. but celcom wireless broadband seem offer more than the speed.. hopefully the connection is stable and do as it is.
*
Not only the speed will throttle down, you might experience disconnected issue especially at night or early morning. This issue happen after 3 months of usage to their services.
